After many months with no open meeting we have two open meetings on successive weekends to look forward to here in the North.
I think we have six N12s likely to go to Solway. Three boats confirmed so far for Burwain. Visitors to Burwain are welcome to camp at the club if making a weekend of it. Any questions or info required about Burwain please contact me.
Personally I am have a flurry of National 12 sailing at Solway ,Burwain and Ullswater (doing the Lord Birkett in the 12) before moving over to live in Northern Ireland in mid July. I am hoping to get back for two weeks in August/September to go to Shoreham for the Burton and Northampton for 80th (no crews sorted yet though).
I will be living just a few miles from East Down Yacht Club so very handy for sailing.
Ian Purkiss tells me his Final Chapter has gone to Skerries YC so I won't be the only N12 owner in Ireland.
Cheers

Hi all
Burwain Sailing Club have agreed to host a meeting at the club on 13th September as Yorkshire Dales where an open was due to take place have cancelled all open meetings this year.
At Burwain we have been club sailing since June following the guidelines, with signage, sanitisers etc. and working out of the dinghy park with limited use of the clubhouse. We are confident we can run the N12 meeting following these procedures and with competitors following the current guidance on crews and sailing two person boats.
We have four boats confirmed so far and two possibles. There is enough room in the dinghy park for at least 15 cars and boats. If you are thinking of coming we would love to see you but please let me know so i can keep track of numbers. Please bring a packed lunch and camping chairs. Planning an 11am start with two back to back races either side of lunch.

Who is going to Yorkshire Dales on Sunday? Weather looks OK (much less windy than last year). Are we going to see Ed Storey's new N12 in action?

Only two weeks to the Burwain open meeting. I hope we can get a good turnout like last year. There is a Streaker open on the same day so we are starting at 1100.
If you can come please let me know so we can plan the food.
Look forward to seeing you.

Hi
I think all the northern N12 sailors have been reminded about this event via email but in case there are any potential attendees not on the email list we have a quorum of seven boats expected. Wind looks good. It would be great to see a few more boats. Starts at 11am.

Hi
Burwain Sailing Club are very happy to welcome the N12 fleet for an open meeting but have to run this alongside other events in the club sailing programme. A club team racing event has had to be rescheduled and it looks like it will be run on 8th May. It would be better if we could run the N12 open with the normal format racing on Saturday 7th May. Please could anyone who is thinking of coming let me know if they can still make it if we re-arrange for Saturday 7th May.

Thanks
Patrick

I am short of a  crew for Burton Week. Are there any crews short of a boat out there? Is there a contact at Pevensey Bay who might be able to help find any local volunteers?

Hope to see the regulars plus some new faces from further afield for the Burwain SC National 12 open on 21st April which is now a Gul Series meeting. Pre-registration is now possible on our new website. The info on the website says the start is 11am at the moment but we actually plan to start at 12 which will give people a lie in or more time to get there (it fits in with club racing and the OOD says that last year by the time everyone got ready it was nearly 12 in any case).

If anybody wants to make a weekend of it you are very welcome to sail on Saturday in the club racing and or camp on site. Just let me know and I will arrange access to clubhouse facilities, open the bar etc.

Are any National 12 sailors headed to Ullswater this weekend for the Lord Birkett event? I will be taking Carbonara 3502 from Burwain. It would be good to have some company! I notice last year Mark Fearnley from South Windermere sailing 3497 managed a very creditable 11th overall.

Burwain Sailing Club are looking forward to hosting this event. I hope the Northern N12 sailors will be out in force. It would be helpful if you could let me know if you are coming. If you are short of a crew I should be able to find one at our club. You are welcome to camp on the Saturday night (there is a Junior Travellers Series event on the Saturday). No shortage of rain in Lancashire so the lake is nearly full and at its best!
Cheers
