After many months with no open meeting we have two open meetings on successive weekends to look forward to here in the North.
I think we have six N12s likely to go to Solway. Three boats confirmed so far for Burwain. Visitors to Burwain are welcome to camp at the club if making a weekend of it. Any questions or info required about Burwain please contact me.
Personally I am have a flurry of National 12 sailing at Solway ,Burwain and Ullswater (doing the Lord Birkett in the 12) before moving over to live in Northern Ireland in mid July. I am hoping to get back for two weeks in August/September to go to Shoreham for the Burton and Northampton for 80th (no crews sorted yet though).
I will be living just a few miles from East Down Yacht Club so very handy for sailing.
Ian Purkiss tells me his Final Chapter has gone to Skerries YC so I won't be the only N12 owner in Ireland.
Cheers

Hi all
Burwain Sailing Club have agreed to host a meeting at the club on 13th September as Yorkshire Dales where an open was due to take place have cancelled all open meetings this year.
At Burwain we have been club sailing since June following the guidelines, with signage, sanitisers etc. and working out of the dinghy park with limited use of the clubhouse. We are confident we can run the N12 meeting following these procedures and with competitors following the current guidance on crews and sailing two person boats.
We have four boats confirmed so far and two possibles. There is enough room in the dinghy park for at least 15 cars and boats. If you are thinking of coming we would love to see you but please let me know so i can keep track of numbers. Please bring a packed lunch and camping chairs. Planning an 11am start with two back to back races either side of lunch.

3475 purchased from Angus Beyts in October 2019. Angus got Simon Hipkin to build and fit a winged rudder on a flapper. Currently being refurbished by Winder the original builder and to be based a Burwain Sailing Club.

I am thinking of going to the Salcombe Yacht Club regatta this year. If anyone has kids or other members of their party who might be interested in crewing please let me know.

I have an old metal mast I got with my design 8 3361 in addition to the mast on the boat at the time. I have taken most of the fittings off and it has been down the side of my house for the last 15 years but I think is it straight and sound. I will check it is still OK and could send photos if you are interested. No payment necessary. Happy to get it out of the way.

Hi Julie
It would  be great to see your nephew and help them but unfortunately it seems all the people who normally come to Burwain can't make it for one reason or another. Only Mark Simpson could make it so it is probably best to reschedule a meeting at Burwain (unless we get a last minute rush). I think the next event in the North (which usually gets a good turnout) is Yorkshire Ouse on 2/3rd June. Then there is N12 fest at Rutland which would be a good opportunity for the nephew to get tips and coaching and meet the  N12 fleet. Hope to see you and your nephew at one of these events.
