Northampton Sailing Club 1st November
The final round of the 2008 N12 Gill series was held at Northampton
Sailing club on the 1st November. 32 boats came to play in the breeze
that started off at 15 knots but increased steadily throughout the three
back to back races up to 25 knots. Race Officers Richard and Mary
Willows set a great course with the leeward mark just off the sailing
club giving the spectators a great view of swimmers and survivors.
The father and daughter team of Stevie and Joanne Sallis N3436 took home
the Gill prize with two firsts to count and a fourth to discard. John
and Katy Meadowcroft N3515 won the first race with a good lead but
couldn’t find the consistency needed. The new team of Ian Gore and Penny
Yarwood N3441 finished second counting four points.
The Admirals Cup division was won by Gareth Williams and Katie Hughes
in 3162 Bicycle Clips.The N12 Fleet would like to thank Gill for their
fantastic support for the series.
