Got by dangley bits up and running at last. Worked at treat on the runs until a couple of Yoemen sneaked up behind me. At least when a laser 5000 does it it doesn't hang around. I sat in my own personal wind shadow while the world went by, just as well there where no Mirrors out. Never mind after Annandale last place is beginning to grow on me. Its a tactic you don't read about in the mags for getting clear air: Just wait until everybody has gone then sail round on your own
On a slightly more serious point, can you get away with tieing the end of the dangley pole onto the jib or do you need the rope running down the pole, its just because of friction in my system the pole seemd to stick to the jib most of the time, which didn't cause any problems and it wouldget rid of some of the friction and wear.

With my super light weight crew and me getting rather old and slow we struggle a bit when it blows. I have got an old sail that I was going to chop a bit off. Has anybody tried this, any ideas about how much I should chop off. or should I just get stablisers or an rs200.

Eee Lad I wurnt out a sea (maybe all at) when it happened but At Loch tummel when an over grown ripple from a circling vulture (well rescue boat) was enough to do it! Have fun

Tummel week 23rd to 28th July a great family week with fun for everbody, and if you come that will make it aleast 3 12's. Last year we won a t shirt, my son did his first munro, came last in a raft race, went to see treasure island, helped his old dad come second in one race (No mean feat as anyone who was at Annandale will know), and lots of other things. And if you've got an old 12 you should get the age related handicap if you asked nicely.

Just a word of warning. In are China doll its not the low stern thats the problem. That soon lifts up when we get moving. Its the nexted wave. Boat stops water inside dosn't and its whoa up periscope and all that. Happy swimming.

Can anybody tell me anything about trouble shooters, I notice there were only about 4 built. We only have an all up weight of about 15 stone, but getting heavier all the time. We mainly sail inland.

I Have an old boat can't remeber the number at the moment I think it is 1284 In need of much work too much for me now. Unfortunately she has suffered serious damage to her bottom in the past which has been repaired, I think affectively but roughly. I have taken the decks off with the intention of redecking but have lost my work shop.
She is all there, unlike me and has an elderly road trailer.
She is free to any body who has more time than sense.
I would be prepared to help with delivery a reasonable distance.

For what its worth I think I'd rather start with the big boys although I wouldn't object to a 5 minute start if you want to give me one.

Hi I've read the bit on the web site about dangly poles, but how long should the pole be. I am in a National 12 desert up here in Perthshire.
