I didn't tell you that I tried an exocet, but it set fire to my jib and singed my crews eye brows.
Got to get to the front somehow. ;D ;D ;D ;D

I fairly recently stepped up to a china doll from a mirror although I had sailed 12s and other things way back in the distant past. Its great fun and actually easier to sail fast than the mirror as you have much better feel and they are not actuaaly as unstable as they feel.
sold the mirror because both my kids refused to go out in it after we got the 12.
Can really addd anything to what the other guys have said about sailing except I find getting the weight well back helps with stability on the run even when its not really windy enough, again not the fastest way to sail but these days I like to stay dry.
Now if you want scary try a ToY especially when the board is 6" shorter than you think it is.

Seems like a good time to remind anybody looking for some good sailing next week. apparently The club as invested in a new machine that is supposed to comp midges.

Tim we all have a cross to bare, I nearly bought a europe untila a ToY came up for sail. Now that was really stupid. The one attempt I have had at sailing so far knocked out my few remaining brain cells.

Another attraction of tummel week, I'll let you have a play with my new ToY. ::)

I can tell you After getting in a china doll for the first time for about 30 years with my nine year old son I thought what the hell have I done!!!.
But the wobbly feeling soon went And I still havn't dumped him in the water, although I have managed it a few times with other crews. I also sail single handed, but at 10 stone I start to struggle a bit when the wind gets up.

Would love to come to this one but the crew is moaning about the travelling and anyway he has a project for school to finish so his mother won't let him out anyway.
Do you think you could move your river a few miles north for next year so we wouldn't have so far to travel.
