Why not compromise and say an AC (not necessarily vintage) and a DB? there are fast AC boats out-there so why shouldnt the class show some of the "older" boats?

Hi,
just wanted to keep this thread up to date. I now have a helm for Northampton (crewing in carbon paw print... thanks Terry). So it looks like it is just down to one crew needing a helm.
Many thanks Naomi

Hi,
Thought I would put mine and Maria's Ad back up near the top (as it is disaperaing, even though mentioned by Trothy on the Gill reply). We are also available to crew. Both also from OMSC. We all ready have transport to get there and will deffo be there (now not going to lasers, 12's are more fun)
Many Thanks Naomi

Hi,
I am available to crew at Northampton, if anyone is looking for a crew. (and posibly other events in the next year before Uni) I now have lots of 12 experience and nothing will really scare me anymore. Now with extensive sailing kit I dont have to wear pink... can colour code to most boats (slightly easier if pink).
If I dont find a helm I am afraid I will be going to laser inlands (and probably sink)
My friend Maria who usually sails with Tom is also looking for a helm, as he is going to laser inlands
Please contact me if you know anyone etc
Thanks Naomi

If you have an event at Rutland and have booked the whole clubhouse facilities it is free to camp on the club ground... the campsite across the road is £10 nite per tent but has no facilities so u need to use the club ones. It is a great piece of water if the bars expensive then dont drink as much u dont need to drink to have a good time lol.
Datchet would be a good one as it is london so very accesible and my sources tell me it is allways windy, as for camping not sure but you do need to be strong to pull your boats up and down.
I have another idea which is Ogston I know there used to be a few 12's around there not sure anymore but that is reasonably central, fairly big, and did hold the enterprise masters earlier this year so has the capabilities. If no camping onsite i could try and pull in a few favours and find some ground somewhere lol.

Has anyone ever put a carbon rig on a paper dart? was thinking about giving it a go, to save weight, look pretier, stiffer, no horrible screws and did i say look prettier lol.;D
Currently a needle spar mast, boat had a nice refurb and going fast, would changing the rig make a big difference? or just try it for a laugh?
thanks naomi

hii
im glad the guy got back to you... have mine and my uncles others thumbs up offered you anything. And yes i am interested in some of the sponsership as i know where it comes from. so let me know as i am in need of sails and kit etc... but if things are on offer i think they should be offered to youths first as i found the sponsership for those doing the youth series with their own boat.
thanks Naomi

Boats / Re: N3193 Ze-bra

Ooops first part of that post didnt post.
Ze-Bra is the new name of the boat after a new paint job. Pictures soon to follow!!! This boat is back on the water this weekend after being off for several months due to a repair to the back tank. Dad put his knee through it when putting the rudder in... we told him what to do but did he listen? So Rodger Angell has kindly repaired the tank for us with some wood and carbon for strength!!:)

Olton has many 12's now cant think of anyone who wants one at the momment as a few of us have more than one! LOL but thanks for mentioning us!!:) Our 12 fleet is still expanding including a PINK BOAT.... my paper dart still not quite on the water will be soon and "be quite something" according to Rodger Angell who is kindly doing the repairs. But yes i can think of a few people down at Olton looking around... we do like a good bargin ;)! But Scotland is abit too far from Birmingham even to buy a 12, plus we already have a legal!!!!;D
Thanks Naomi
