I will be there sailing with Andy! I would like food for Saturday night and Im sure Andy would too. Would there be a space for the motorhome?
Slightly disappointed at the forcast so far, windy this week leading up to, then light winds for the weekend and then lots of wind next week :( lets hope they have got it wrong!

The Bloody Mary is one of 4races counting towards the Sail Juice series. The other opens being Grafham Grand Prix, Steve Nicholson and the Tiger Trophy. There is one discard. It is a was a good series last year, as spectator, particularly the Bloody Mary in that horrible weather, but I am most looking forward to joining in this year! Sail Juice had some great prizes last year for the winners, including a holiday learning to sail Moths in Spain! Just turning up to these events really does pay off, my brother won first single hander in the series last year for turning up to all the events, and reading the notice of race at the Hoo Freezer! More info on the series can be found at: http://www.sailracer.us/eventsites/content.asp?id=1501&eventid=51516
Looking forward to seeing some more 12's taking part!

Charlotte - I have sent you an email on the possibilty of Datchet?!?!

If the larks are managing to reschedule ... cant we?? Most clubs would probably love us to go play there

Hopefully they havn't spread any further. Grafham are currently working on the problem ..."The authorities are investigating the introduction of chemical wash down facilities but have to first look at the implications for water quality" (from email sent to me by the club) So something will be sorted soon!!!!
Now looking forward to November even more!

We had a great day at the Mere to day, with some close racing. Thankyou to John Meadowcroft for making the journey. Sadly he did not manage to hold onto the trophy, it was a home win for Tom White and Maria Gidley sailing Le Shed.
Hope to see many more on the water next year

I'm keen for a crews union party sounds fun, and im sure i will be able to bring the other mere crews with me.... just one thing would it be suitable for under 18's as there are many crews under 18 who would still like to come

Were at Queen Mary today was a shae to see no 12's out there. but dont blame anybody in those conditions. A brave 60people entered.. not many finished. Many came in due to the cold, physically blue! Control lines and mainsheet were freezing soon as water came in contact with them, so they were basically pipe-cleaners.  One laser had iceikles off the boom!
It was a brilliantly set course with the start with in view of the club house and one of the marks even nearer. I just hope that all that went out hae now warmed up! I was cold enough watching with out swimming!

Helming in an open meeting can be very daunting, i did my first one this summer in my laser and was quite worried. So i agree with Phil maybe a compromise could be made with an older crew being allowed for one or two races to gain confidence , i know for me it would certainly give me confidence.
One other thing being if we had young crews with young helms might this act against the whole point, we want your youngsters helming??
