Apologies for being late getting the 3rd May open off the ground. Salcombe has had the pressing problem of the storms causing us to lose the beach (Smalls cove) where the boats are kept, plus a few roads around the town.   Thanks to hard work by Jayne and team a solution of all of us sailing out of Batson has been found. So it is late .... but hey the weather is great, the Merlins just had a successful weekend of beautiful weather and racing. Let's go for it!  There will be all abilities , so it will be a good event to bring Gill newbies to, those who like the sencery as well as the keen racers.  We have a hot buffet booked for the Saturday night and pasties delivered to the beach on Sunday ( please book on entry) .
Hannah & I have a bottle of wine to consume thanks to a grateful solo capsizer at the last open. Come and practice for Carnac ... we are almost in Brittany and it is possibly more beautiful.
Paradocs.

Helen is right, we are ready to recieve your entries for the Open on May 3rd-5th and very much look forward to welcoming you to Salcombe.
If anyone is looking for crews please let me know and I will advertise your requests at the Club.
Our amazing Club Steward Brian is 79 tomorrow- I know we can't belive it either- and he is a big fan of the National Twelves and remembers sailing them fondly!
Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Jools is keen to have numbers for the pasty man order. So please if you would like pasties delivered to Smalls cove on Sunday lunch time  contact Jools on 01548 842872  also if you would like dinner on Saturday night at the club as we plan to have a N12 meal .( if you already ordered with your entry form you are ok) . If you have speical dietary requirements also let her know.
Entry forms are on the Salcombe yacht club web site or you can phone Jayne in the office on 01548 842593. We had the club race cancelled last Saturday due to high winds but we managed a successful tow the boat to the beach. We are breaking ourselves in gently this season!

Thank you for coming down to Salcombe; what a great weekend, sunny,  sea and harbour sailing and pasties. The crew's race was great fun (well done Sophie, Rosie and Olly) and well done Graham and Zoe for your consistent performance in some not very consistent winds in the 'proper' races.  Great to see hoards of mini 12 sailors on the beach. Thank you too to Gul for some very generous prizes.  Hope to see lots of you at Salcombe yacht club regatta in August and the October open.

Don't worry Hannah the bottle of wine awaits your return.   Whole event has been overshadowed by pasty gate! Hope to see you soon.
