Could anyone enlighten me as to the start time on Sunday? (and hopefully coinciding with high water this year!)

Here are the details which Howard S has sent out for those that havn't seen them (some problems with the Northern emailing list methinks!!):

Happy new year and welcome to the 2006 season - Spring is here at last!
Celebrate in the traditional style by indulging in some of the best river racing available on the tidal river Tyne for this year's 'season opener' at Newburn - the annual TSC 'Blaydon Race'. Now in its 43rd year!
We are aiming for a 12 noon start to make full use of the 1.00pm high water. - probably a 2.5 to 3 hour race - so the first half on a flood tide and the 2nd half on the ebb - on an upstream course.

Look foraward to seeing a full fleet of 12's on the water and in the 'Keelman' pub for refreshments after racing.

For further details please contact Howard Steavenson (telephone number is in the Yearbook).

Hope to see you at Ryton, who else is coming out to play on Sunday?

Thanks for that, Bernard.  Don't think I ever received Howards missive.

We'll be there, hoping for a brisk breeze and at least a 5C improvement on current temperature (3.5C).

Regards
Peter
