So Antony - what level of pricing for the package do you think would make the proposition more attractive/affordable?
The issue will then be whether or not a manufacturer could do it at that price and still make a profit - but at least it gives them something to aim for.

It looks like the forecast has now dropped a bit - 20mph gusting 40mph!
That's a teensy bit out of my comfort zone - and that of my vintage boat, so unfortunately I won't be trekking Tynewards on Sunday.
For all those who make it up the river (and back!) in one piece, do have some extra chips for me too.
Have fun

Angus - crew sorted for you for Yeadon on Sunday. Howard checking on further availability for Will.
Jennie - is there a NOR for Ripon anywhere - briefing time etc or am I just looking in the wrong places??

Hi Jennie - I shall be there in a vintage boat with crew.  Looking forward to the weekend immensely.
Angus - I will do my best to locate a willing crew for you - do I take it you may be seeking to borrow one of Howard's large fleet!?

Sorry Paul but unable to make it on Sunday - looks like it will be an excellent turnout.
I can't imagine forty two yots squeezing up the narrows past the Sea Scouts but I'll take your word for it!
Cheers

Are there any photos of the event anywhere - remember seeing some on the screen in the Clubhouse but not sure who was taking them?
Thanks again to all at Pevensey for a great event -  the Race Team dealt admirably with the ever changing conditions and the catering was fantastic - what a shame the meal at the Burton Dinner was such a let-down after all the work that went into organising it.
As for the 24hrs of continuous rain on the Monday - I think we could all have done without that, especially those who got flooded out and had to go home.
Thanks too to the always excellent N12 organising team - let's hope more boats make it onto the water next year.

Yes - definitely!
Burton SC - definitely!
20/21 June good for me
27/28 June good for me
4/5 July couldn't do.
11/12 July - possible but have to be back in Bradford by 6pm on the Saturday.
Format as previous years - seems to work well
Hope that helps and a big thank you again to all on the organisation team and Burton SC for another fantastic event this weekend.

Erm  - don't forget me and Gill and Howard C + not sure who.
Is Steve Sallis still sailing?

Will Team Camm be there this year I wonder?

Tim and Gill with 'Gruffalo' have it in their diaries - but keeping an eye on wind-strength forecast!
It's looking a wee bit strong for a ribby with wooden sticks
Hopefully it will have dropped a bit by the weekend.

What forecast are you looking at ??- Windguru and XC Weather both currently show a solid F4 with gusts rising from F5 - F7 during the day.
Too strong for Gruffalo and unfortunately, just discovered that Saskia - my vintage Starfish, has popped a plank (it's come unglued on the land), so unfortunately, won't be there on Saturday as I've no time to repair her before Fri night.
Sorry

If you don't plan to use her, then why not take the rig off and turn the hull upside down and support on old tyres, then strap cover over the upturned hull.
If you can bury a tyre each side with rope/strap attached to tie over her that should keep her from blowing over/away.
It's the windage of the rig that's generally responsible for flipping most dinghies.

Hi Chris - I'm hoping to be there with some sort of vintage 12 to sample the legendary windshifts of Olton Mere!
But if it's blowing old boots and pouring with rain I may just decide to give the delights of Solihull a miss, sorry.
I'll let you know Fri afternoon via another post.

Yes - I think Ed's correct - I hadn't looked up the Yearbook data and on doing so it is clear that Burnes Shipyard seemed  to build nothing but Currey Sunshine Mk 1's during this period...
26 boats in all from N162 'Scorn' in 1936 through to N373 'Brent' in 1938.  Looking at the photo of N207 on p181 the deckless layout and spaceframe to support the mast is clear to see.
The photos of N277 would suggest that she has undergone some 'surgery' - possibly the removal of the space frame stiffeners, removal of the forward section of the centreboard case forward of the mast step, to permit the placement of a forward 'bulkhead' and the addition of rudimentary side-decks.
