Carsington open meeting

Carsington Sailing Club - Open Meeting 19th May 2013
 
The day started as though summer had finally come, but with no wind and glassy water.  The fleet took to the water for an 11.00 start, drifted around until the Race Officer laid a short course, started the first race, but when the fleet virtually came to a standstill at the first mark, abandoned the race and sent the fleet for an early dinner, at which point the wind sprang up.
 
After lunch the fleet completed three back to back races in a shifty and variable wind.  In the first race Graham Camm and Zoe Ballantyne took an early lead and won the race, second was Dave Peacock crewed by Jayden Wood and in third place Mark and Emma Simpson.

 
The second race was again won by Graham and Zoe, followed by Dave and Jayden, with third place going to Ian Smith and Jenny Chen.
 
The final race was won by Zoe crewed by Graham, Ian and Jenny took second place and Mark and Emma taking third place.
 
The final result was in first place Graham and Zoe in N3530 The Very Hungry Caterpillar, second was Dave and Jayden in N3524 Paradigm Buster and in third place was Ian and Jenny in N3316 Wot More Pudding.
