The hull shell was built by Brett Dingwall. We built various components in our dining room and then assembled her over a very cold winter in Nigel Goodhew's garage. She's mainly a glass fibre foam sandwich hull with carbon floor, inner structure and decks. Her deck profile is modelled on Zoe's knees for maximum comfort while hiking. She has won Burton week once (Abersoch), the Burton Cup twice (Abersoch and Porthpean) and the Bloody Mary (2007). Below is a picture of us mid-construction and the finished product. I hadn't been sailing Babel Fish enough so sadly said goodbye and handed over to a new owner. Hopefully the move to the south coast will see a return to winning ways on the water. |
