National 12 Design: Numinous

About the Numinous

The Numinous was designed in 2001 by Bim Daser and the first two built by Brett Dingwall. Having had a few years to mull over the Feeling Foolish, Bim decided he could get more speed out of the Twelve both improving the upwind speed with a deeper more "V" shaped bow and enabling the boat to be driven harder down wind by centralising the lift in the middle of the boat rather than at the transom. The outcome has been, true to form, remarkably successful, taking first in the National Championships 2002.

One thing you will notice about the Numinous is that there are no chines, the fully rounded finish means she is devilishly quick in the light stuff and a real joy to sail inland.

With a high thwart and a double floor with kick bars and plenty of grip and also a slightly raised centreboard capping she is also reasonably easy to move around.
