Ratbag N1426 was rescued from a garden in Wales in 1999 and restored over the next four years. A second hand needle mast was added (a wooden one could not be found) and it was kitted out in 2005. It was sailed in Sandwell Valley, West Bromwich in 2005/2006 and returned home to Pembrokeshire in 2006 where it has been sailed at Solva and Landshipping. Since the restoration, it has taken some minor and mildy upsetting damage, once when recovered full of water by some over-enthusiastic bystanders and again when blown over on its trailer on the quayside by a summer gale. Unwelcome but my family calls them 'war wounds'. |
