Well by my reckoning we are into double figures now...so perhaps the world IS shrinking!

Copsey Family have decided to travel. Leaving tomorrow morning to make saturday start time.- Two days should do it.
Just finished refitting board and new slot gasket so hoping it all holds together.
Anthony will be crewing but who for is yet to be decided. Nick will helm if he is up for 6 races and can be polite to me, otherwise I will be helming.
Tanya has a crewing job so we will have 3 sailing and 2 spectating
Looking forward to it.

Alex look forward to seeing you at Annandale!

you did look vaguely familiar when I met you it Blaydon.....
My parents are quite well known in East-Coast Sailing circles.
The big debate right now, is what was the sail number of my Grandad's N12 - there are plenty of numbers being "remembered", but they are all different... any ideas????
Hopefully I will make it along to Annandale - still planning on it, but may only manage the Sunday due to Crew rebellions and tow-car issues (and, I think I need to do a wind-dance to make sure I keep moving!)

Chris Day (Guest)

Well done to Steve Sallis and Tanya Copsey for winning the first Gill Series event of the year, in a variety of winds and often shifty conditions.

A massive thank you to everyone at Annandale Sailing Club for providing a first class event and a very warm welcome! I can honestly say I have never been to such a good value event with afternoon tea, curry night with unlimited drinks and Sunday soup and sandwiches all included in the entry.

We will definitely be back next year - but may be in a b&b ... camping was a little chilly!

Looking forward to Spinnaker next weekend!

A great event well run. Thanks to all at Annandale. Also well done to Chris and Sophie for managing 2 race wins.
Bernard and Ellie Clark were first AC and Tim Gatti and Clare Hunter were first Vintage.
Nick managed to finish two races and I finished another two so between us we could have qualified.
Looking forward to Spinnaker next week

To echo what others have already said - thanks to all at Annandale for another fabulous weekend.

The weather was pretty amazing too - with sunshine and breeze on both days, if a little shifty.
Thanks also to the other Vintage sailors who came  - five entries so early in the season made for some really great racing.
There were some very young crews in the front of many of the boats, Ellie Clark, Finn Mitchell, Rebecca Coles and Ben Willett in particular, who did extremely well.
Perhaps along with broadening the scope of the Gill prizes (well done to Clare Hunter for all her hard work too as Gill rep), we should also look at finding ways to reward and encourage some of our keen young crews, even if they don't make it into the main prize list?

Definitely well worth the trip...
Great sailing, superb hospitality and brilliant value for money!  Family Willett will definitely be back next year.  Thanks Annandale, and thanks Gill...!
Tim:  Ref your point about young crews - not only some good achievements but for one or two they were getting into boats they weren't familiar with, with helms they may not have known.  I thought they did brilliantly and completing the series was a great achievement for them and a super advertsiement for the class...  Ben enjoyed the event and the close racing but a little extra reward or encouragement could make the difference between getting him (and therefore all of us) to the next meeting, and the next, and the next...
See you all again soon.

I would just like to endorse the previous posters sentiments and thanks all round...but also add my own thanks from the resident Scottish N12's to all the visitors some of whom travelled really considerable distances to attend Annandale. Without all your support the event would not be the success it is and we also much appreciate the opportunity to race against other N12's and catch up and socialise with you all too! Very much appreciated.
PS sorry for delay in getting report out...have been working in London this week....

For any of you who want a flash-back to Annandale - or a view on proceedings from on board N2620 - I've put a short video clip onto the N12 Facebook page...   It was taken from the first day - race 3 I think.  Not one of our finest races as most of you were in front (and the camera is facing aft) but it was still a bit of fun.

The most important and prestigious award seems to have been missed off the write up. The Lady bird book of sailing. This award has been compared to the Burton Brick but it is of course quite different as the aim is to help the recipient.
This year it was won by Brian Herring who is obviously so desperate for work he ran up my transom and it actually wasn't my fault and he also managed the only capsize of the weekend.
I can't help noticing That I seem to have featured in quite a few of the photos and Always with a considerable heel which i have just spent hours looking at very boring video I took with horizon level nearly all the time. Maybe it is throw back to the Killer Custard days when we used to heel the boat over when ever we saw a camera just to show off our teeth.:-/
