Matt's comments above are on the nail regarding weight - I have won several inland meetings sailing with the sort of weight you're planning and indeed more! You might find that a Crusader will be a better bet inland than a man-o-war. they are easier to tack and sail well in light winds. You could spend less and seek out a decent Cheshire Cat which would be excellent inland but would struggle to keep up on open water.

Hi Valhalla!

We have Crusader 88 and are about 20 stone all up weight helm & crew.  We sail VERY competitively at our local club and my partner is also a VERY experienced river sailor (Thames).  

I have also crewed Fuzzy Duck with her old...old...old owner Don Muir.  She was damn fast!  Have a look at her if she's a beautiful as she was last time I saw her (2005) you won't be disappointed.
