Great news Bob. Glad to hear the old boat will be taking to the water without sinking. Well done.
It will be good to see it again.

Hi Sarah
I have a foiling foolish 3538(as fast as the DCBs in most conditions) or Baggy 3411(probably the fastest AC boat) both in West Row (Suffolk cambridgeshire border-66 miles from Brightlingsea).
Give me a call if interested.

Thanks for the info.
Might see you in the boat park at midnight Antony.

Graham & Zoe won, Tom and Robbie 2nd, Steve and ? 3rd, Dave Peacock and ? 4th, Gerald & Tanya were 5th (or last depending on your point of view). Enjoyed my first sail since Norfolk week but the wind was too light and unpredictable for someone trying to remember how to sail.
I remember Tom led the first race until he went round the mark the wrong way. Hopefully a sign that he is getting older and will soon forget how to win races.

Is there somewhere to leave the boat on Friday night and if so what time do we need to be there by ?
Thanks
Gerald (for Nick & Steve 3528)

Hi Steve.

Tanya and I (and Frances) planning to come in 3411. Hopefully the journey up will blow the dust off.

Well said Dave. The fact is that you will not win a championship in a £1,000 boat in any class but you can have a lot of fun in a 12 for that price.
For £2,000 you can have a lot of fun and be very comptitive on small waters or on light days- not many classes can offer such a competitive boat for that.
I admit that when we put the foiling rudder on the foolish it helped that we were working on a bare hull but the carbon rods for strenthening, fittings, Rudder and stock(professionally made) were no more than the price of a new suit of sails.
A boat capable of winning races at the championships for under £4,000(including brand new sails) in any competitive fleet is hard to find, and to be able to do it in a boat which is such fun to sail is a big bonus.

Hi Emily
Forgot to ask if you have tried Aardspars.
If you want me to bring the boat I will need to know by tomorrow lunchtime.

Hi Emily

If you cannot fix the mast you could borrow my baggy 3411, which is very similar age to yours and as fast as any in the AC category.
It would need someone to take it from here (Suffolk) as I am off to Wales for the Fireball champs on Friday, and going to Pevensey straight from there.
Alternatively I am coming down to Hayling Island on Friday (approx 8-9pm) so could bring the Baggy with me if someone can meet me and take the boat then.
My number is in the book and Frances can give you my work no if nescessary.
Good Luck with the mast

Great day, great fun. Enjoying it more today than at the time. A few aches but no bruises.
Apologies to Graham for not being fit enough, light enough, young enough or good enough, but it shows that if you keep turning up someone will ask you to crew.
I will now go on a diet and get fit in case I get another chance
Or maybe I'll just sit here and have another glass of wine
Thanks to all at Burghfield for a super event and to Gul for sponsoring (unfortunately there was no prize for heaviest crew - a mistake I feel).

Don't know any local babysitters, but Frances can do it, so long as the 6 and 4 don't make 10 one year olds
