Sad news to report that Michael Collyer, a well known sailor on the Thames Area circuit more than a generation ago, passed away peacefully at home on January 8th having suffered from a long and debilitating illness.

Hi Victorian dad - that is something for me to ponder.
So far, he is ticking the behaviour boxes and the weather looks pleasant.

I am thinking about going, will watch the weather forecast.  If it is going to be as warm as it this weekend then very keen to go along on Saturday.  Oliver needs to behave himself.

Hi James
If not sailing with Mrs M i sail with my son Oliver.  He is now somewhat hooked.  I am 90kg and he is a little over 30kg and is now nine years old.  He also likes Opis, Toppers, quite frankly anything.  We have sailed the 12 together for the last 4 years, gently building things up.  He is turning out to be quite competent!  It is all about taking the opportunities that you have and not doing too much too soon.
Like sailing with your partner, sailing with your child is a fantastic privilege.  A 12 is an ideal boat.  If you dont want too much work on a boat, 3294 would be an excellent purchase.
Do it!

Gul's support of the National 12 Class has been fantastic
Jon Ibbotson won the weekend in Cornwall surfing - and then Mike produced another voucher which Alan Beeton was the lucky winner of.
Saturday was cold and dreary, but today was windier, sunny and warmer.
Both days were pretty shifty!
All in all, very good fun.  Well done to those who made it happen.

Thanks to Salcombe YC for a great weekend.
I completed "windy Wednesday" a couple of years ago but we could not manage the sail back to Batson from the club line without falling in.  This time never made it past the fuel barge before were blown in.  Took refuge on Snapes point.  The squall took along time to blow through.
Kudos to William and Sophie.  They kept things upright as Peter/Theo and I got blown over.  They then sensibly headed straight to Batson, avoiding the complication of trying to finish, or rather the nightmare of trying to get downwind having finished.
For those who did not come we only saw one dolphin and one seal all weekend.  Clearly would have been easier to count more if it had not been windy.
See you next time!

Sorry Tom, we are full...  Tiny garden will fit a small tent however.

Meadowcrofts coming with some non sailing friends too.  Will work out the numbers for food and get in touch with Jools.  Would it be possible for the boat to sleep on Smalls on Saturday night?  I understand there is space for Dead Cat Bounce
