Interasting, but both new boats are ugly and look abit dated. I dont think they will atract many (if any) buyer from outside of the fleet. :)

Boats / Re: N2884 The Marionette

I don't know anything about Harry Dolby the builder of N2884 but George and John Dalby both built excellent boats, and were - are members of Trent Valley.(George lived at Enderby, Just out side Leicester).
The Oadby Owl (at Oadby just out side Leicester) was a very bussey pub and one of the in places to eat and drink during the 1970's.
Anyone ells know anything about 2884 12 Bore Oadby Owl design

Boats / Re: N3451 The Magic Pudding
22 Apr 2009, 07:26
We bought Magic Pudding from Dare mid 2008. MP's hull was in exceptional condition but the rig needed a make over.(A jib strop snapped first time out, and the boom was to short for the main). MP now has, New toe straps, New main and jib sheets, We have fitted Lowers, swing spreders and the rig is fully adjustable. The mast has been calibrated for light medium and strong winds. The boat has been fitted witha Z spar boom and tansom main.
We have only sailed the boat twice at Rutland and had two 2nd places ( the club champ. came 1st.)this was prior to the rig improvements.

You might want to look at your weight distrabution before you change, sticking a heavy bum out over the transom makes the boat very slow. If you are small you can still tack facing back as per Europe sailer.
You may also need a stiffer boom to maintain sail shape and a boom track as per Solo to control mast bend in different wind conditions.
A c/main system that sheets in and out fast is also bad news.:)
