Hi All,
Have posted in the Ads section but no luck yet. I really need  an old combi trailer for my Paper Dart, N2679. I wont be able to keep her at the Club this winter as they have a new Comet fleet taking priority for under cover winter storage, so she needs to come home at the end of the season, but I cant really justify the cost of a new combi! So a plea for help...there must be dozens of old combi's suitable for a National 12 lying around in the dinghy parks across the country? Please let me know...if you have one, know of one, or where to go look for one!
PS Really after a combi, rather than a single trailer (which I have already been offered) as the trolly I have is also on its last legs...so two birds with one stone etc...
Many Thanks
Ed

Hi Paul,
Many thanks for the update on Dolly Blotter, really appreciated! Do you have any background on how John chose the name? ( I could guess but better to be informed). I notice also that Rob Peebles won the Midland Junior Trophy in her in 1974. FYI I was sailing her just yesterday and she really is still a delight to sail.
Best Wishes
Ed

Spotted whilst on holiday in the Isles of Scilly, now called "Fraggle" and resident on the small island of Bryher. Appears in good condition, all dry and no rot, and located in an absolutely idyllic place to sail!

Courtesy of Gillian Westell via Geoffrey Perriam is this photo of Geoffrey sailing Squall  off Exmouth in the 1950's. Geoffrey owned Squall between 1953 and 1957 and sold her to Dixon & Son Boat Builders of Exmouth in 1957.   Gillian's father John Westell, designer of the 505, raced Squall at the 1947 Burton Week at Torbay.

Recently appeared for sale on Gumtree with the following  advert "I bought 3 years ago and have done renovations to it in that time including painting the hull and top deck (the main picture is before). I have added perspec water gates to the stern and renovated the self-balers. Of the two main sails one has a small tear (about 4") as in the picture and the two jib sails are in fair condition. There are two bouyancy bags. It comes on a trailer which is in good condition with good bearings and new tyre and tube. I have had her out on the water several times and is a lot of fun. She is very fast! and handles well for her age". Located Maldon, Essex.

Couresy of Michael Goffe, via Michael Brookman is this picture of David Camps sailing N294 (named on the back of the photograph as "Gem", name possibly predating NTOA records) on the "Water works reach at Surbiton in 1945". Note the landing craft in the background.
