Hello
There will be a social at the club on the Saturday but unlikely on the Sunday night although the club will be open.  You might have to venture to the Northampton metropolis for some excitement...
Alternatively I could probably find you a babysitter.

Answering your other question about being competitive - you probably won't make it into the top few at the Nationals but don't rule out the open circuit.  The AC fleet is also hotly contested so expect some tight racing in Brightlingsea.

Kevin and I will be there - BUT there are loads of events before that one.

Antony - Lesley Iles has kindly agree to organise the dinner, in the hotel where Dave and I had our wedding reception, you have been before!

Hamble River Sailing Club invites the Merlin Rocket, Firefly,
National 12 & Foxer classes to the 49th Hamble Warming Pan over the weekend
of 19th & 20th March. The racing follows the same
format as previous years, two races a day with a break for lunch with river
starts & finishes off the HRSC clubhouse, excursions into Southampton Water
depending on the weather.

The club will be providing class starts for Fireflies, Merlins,
National 12 and Foxers. The Regatta for the National 12s will form part of
their Gill Series and for the Merlins it will be part of their Silver Tiller
Series. A new venture this year is races for under16s in Pico dinghies which
will be run in a separate course area.

Over 80 boats are expected to take part over the weekend which as
always will provide great spectator sport as races are run just metres from the
banks of the river. An added bonus for competitors is that entry fees have been
kept at the same level as last year, at just £25 a boat with single handers at
half price.

Once again HRSC is gearing up to provide competitors to this
classic early season event with good racing, plenty of hot food all day and a
friendly welcome. On Saturday night the club will host a Spaghetti Bolognese
evening, a quiz and charity raffle, all helped along by some of the cheapest
beer in Hamble.

The Notice of Race, accommodation hints and other useful
information are available on Hamble River
Sailing Club website
.
We are looking forward to welcoming the National 12 Class to the Warming Pan on 19th and 20th March. We have managed to hold last years entry fee of £25 for 2011 for both days with an entry fee of £15 if only doing one day.
The NoR will be up on the clubs website by close of play tomorrow, the site also has a link to details of the day including the evening meal, quiz and charity raffle. I have attached a Warming Pan preview notice which I sent to Yachts and Yachting earlier in the week.
Once again looking forward to the National 12 Class at the Warming Pan and hope for a bumper entry.

Regards

Ian Sumner RCS

We have promised Hamble a good turnout so hope you will be there.

Brilliant Jeremy, some of the best footage ever.  Would also like to see it at normal speed.
#22
I don't think Tom had one in Weymouth although he may have one now.
#23
...and as far as complexity goes I entirely agree.
#24
I know that Tom, Jonno & Char don't have the trim tab, Graham & Zoe do, not sure about the others...
#25
No plans on the centre board but the other pink one also has a conventional centre board so we are comparing like for like.  Not yet sure when the boat will emerge from P&B so don't know when any conclusive evidence will be available.
#26
I am assuming that the pink one will actually be free as it is generating so much publicity for P&B and it is the one they are learning on :)
#27
Rutland not so keen on N12s.

The boom won't make any difference to the mainsail but the mast will.  You may be able to find a second hand boom - try the Buy & Sell link.  Sails - try P&B they serve the class well, I am married to one of them so slightly biased.  We sail with P&Bs and on the whole they have served us well. P&B would also be able to supply the required carbon bits as well but Terry at Aardspars is also worth a call.
#29
The carbon boom helps in breezy gybes, firstly it has less momentum and secondly it hurts less if it hits your head!

Sophie is correct - I am delighted to report the first error on the fixtures list.  The Hamble Warming Pan the start of the Gill Series in in fact on the 19th and 20th March.

Hope to see you all there!
