Yup it's also most that time of year for our yearly 12 open.

The plan hasn't changed 3 races starting before the club fleet all for the princely sum of £5.

Briefing 10:30

First race 11 o'clock

Lunch with race 2 and 3 to follow.

So who's thinking of coming along?

Hello Paul and other river and pond yottin' 12ies.

Sorry Kez and me aren't going to make it unfortunately Subversion has a hole in the pointy end  :'(

Hopefully see you all at MK SC in June.

Soapdish is pretty much talked about for her being the first self draining 12. However she no less radical under the waterline!

Below as some photos I took last summer while she was on her side getting a bit of polish.

If all the above opens aren't enough I'm a bit fan of Sail Register. Good covers at a decent price  ;D

Hello Andy

Welcome to the fleet.

I have a feeling wooden chapters and plastic ones qualify for the 4P series but I will have to check the sailing instructions if I manage to track them down. PT can you remember?

Either way you are more the welcome to come along the Milton Keynes 12 open. It will be day a easy going 12 racing for the princely sum of £5.

I'm just wondering where are you based?

I'm with Paul and Martin with saying a big thank you all a Olton Mere for running such a great event. It was a shame we couldn't hang around for the prize giving but as they say Saturday night "is (ice) hockey night!"

See you all in the new year if not before for some more river and lake yotting.

At least I will safe from trees there  ;)

I'm always happy to be racing against you and Cheshire Cat PT.

Is there there anyone thinking of coming along?

Gerald has kindly offered kez and me the loan of Glass and a Half Full.

After a what must a  couple of years sailing Soapdish I'm slowly coming to the conclusion while she is still  a 'head turner' boat a more mainstream 12 might be an idea. So Kez and me are wondering if anyone with a Fooling Foolish or simpler is happy for us to try one before we start boat hunting. While we don't want to be to choosey it would be good to do this somewhere inland in the south east.

On a side note is anyone wants the chance to own Soapdish one of the most iconic National 12's drop me a message.

Thanks
Smilie

Really sorry everyone due Bobs crew shortage and pair of looking looking at weather forecast and wimping out (don't really fancy sailing when rabbits might be appearing in the park). The Milk 'n Beans 12 fleet has decided to stay at home.

Have fun all

see you for the next midland area event.

Back again.

The news about 12 open in the land of round abouts, motor racing teams and concrete cows ( I wondering if the last 2 could be combined to improve F1)

Is the windgurn says there's going to plenty of wind and a bit of sunshine. Sounds like Caldecotte lake my look like MK Del Garda (well maybe)

There's couple of visitors planning on coming meaning there should be about 5 12s on the water with a bit of luck.

If you are tempted but not sure how to find Milton Keynes Sail Club here a link to their website with all the info. http://www.mksc.org.uk/map.html

See you Sunday

With two weeks to go MK 12 fleet have been busy preparing. Bob's has nearly finished tweaking Beggar's Maid. It must be something in the air with Team Redbull just up the road because one of us always seems to be tuning something. I have been on the water twice now and the leg seems to ok with the sailing thing despite my fitness being rubbish now.

I doubt they will mind saying, there are rumors both Paul Turner and Ben Brown are planning on coming along.

So who else is thinking of coming along? It's the perfect venue to sail with the kids or if you are thinking trying a 12 open this is a good one to start with since the racing is going kept fun and relaxed.

Ps. Bump ;)
