Your Vintage Champs Needs You!
We have a new venue at Trent Valley Sailing Club and a lot of effort is being put in to make it a fun weekend. Access to the club has been improved with the re surfacing of the road and you can now get there without disappearing down a pot hole. There's the Derwent Handicap, food and a skittles night, real ale, overnight camping on the beautiful lawn, breakfast, the Vintage Champs and a Concours d'Elegance. The event is combined with an open meeting on the Sunday and you compete in that as well.
Are you coming?

Hello all Vintage Sailors

The Vintage weekend at Burton SC, Foremark Reservoir is not far away and it needs your support. If you have a Vintage 12 please bring it along. If you would like to take part but don't have a vintage boat Paul Turner has several that he is willing to lend out. This is our main vintage event and it's great fun so please try to make it. The Derwent Handicap on the Saturday and the Vintage Champs on the Sunday are separate so it's OK if you can only make one. If you can do both there's camping overnight and parking for motor-homes.

Please post on this topic if you're interested so Kevan and Janet can get an idea of numbers.

Thanks

Hello Vintage Sailors

Henley SC have kindly agreed for their Thames Area meeting on Sept 11th to be part of this years Vintage Series. Hopefully, some vintage owners will be able to come as it's a superb venue for vintage sailing, first race 11.00am.

Lesley and I will be there so who else is coming?

Although many Vintage events were well supported, unfortunately only one boat had the four results needed to qualify for the 2015 Vintage Series. It is hoped to help increase the numbers qualifying in 2016 by making these changes:

  • Including all popular Vintage events in the Series i.e. Derwent Handicap, Vintage Champs, NW Norfolk Week and Burton Week.
  • Having two weekends with a separate event each day. So by doing the Derwent Handicap/Vintage Champs and Ripon/Yeadon weekends you get four qualifying results.
It would be really great if more of the many vintage enthusiasts could attend enough events to qualify for the series ;D .
