I was down in Salcombe again at the weekend - without my 12 this time.    On Fore St there is a photographers called Explosures.   They were out on the water on Saturday and Sunday of the Salcombe Open snapping away at the racing.  They have some nice photographs.

They don't post them to a web site to view , but the lady in the shop did say that if anyone from the N12 fleet wanted to drop them an eMail with their sail numbers, boat name, hull colour, then they would look out some good snaps and eMail them to you as thumbnails and you can pick the best.  If you want to buy, they can advise on size costs etc.

Hi, I am looking to buy my first 12 for the new season.  I have seen one boat with a deck stepped mast.  It is the only one I have seen with this feature.   Can anyone advise me on how tuning such a rig would vary from conventional (floor stepped) mast.    What are the advantages of deck stepping?  And....are there many 12s rigged this way?    Thanks in anticipation!
