Quote from: edwillett on 12 Feb 2025, 04:47Thanks Jerry and Ian.

I think there are signs of a resurgence in activity but in part that perspective depends on where you sail! We have lots of N12 activity at Whitefriars SC with a good mix of boats from clinker to modern all racing each other....and yes even at this time of year while most wait for warmer weather we see two or three N12's most Sundays! Some of the fleet will also surely be venturing on to the Traveller circuit this year so that will boost attendance a little at some of the key meetings.

Will be good to see N1137 in action...perhaps at the Vintage champs?

Thank you Ed. I've pencilled in some dates to attend... my only problem is I'm based up in West Yorkshire and struggling to find local expertise to help me get her in sailing condition. I fully intend to achieve that in the coming months - building a shed for her currently so that she can be dry with her cover off.

Sorry for unearthing an ancient thread, but I just thought it would be interesting to ask as a newcomer (having acquired Rapscallion 1137, being excited about her history, and intending to get her back onto the water and racing again), how things have developed since this conversation? Are numbers still down? Is there a resurgence?

Just interested as I dip my toes into the scene what the current state of play is...

I hope my post doesn't annoy anyone - I'm aware it's probably an emotive issue for some.

Should be one more next year when Rapscallion (N1137) is ready!

Just to update on Rapscallion, she has been transferred from Beryl Higgins family to ours as of about 2 months ago. I'm starting stripping down and revarnishing when the current outbuilding for her is finished. Coming back into N12 events after a long absence soon hopefully.
