Thinking low bow tank and stern tank with boxed up n C/B at the moment. Don't want it floating too high when capsized and am thinking a bit of water in the boat once righted might make life a bit simpler at my age. No spring chicken these days. Article sounds like a good idea and yes you could be on the right track wrt builder

Chilli, unfortunately nooooo!
Ed it's going to be a 4 plank version of one of the more popular designs if we can do it. Planning on using CD/CAM to produce it. Gonna be old school wood, going for a really nice looking boat. At my age might end up being a nice piece of furniture so glass won't have the same aesthetic appeal

Plans in hand to upgrade Grimly Fiendish in the very near future. Plans got hold of, builder in deepest darkest Essex on board once Hadron, BOD's, National 18 molds completed, and designs being modified by another famous member of the Essex yachting fraternity.
to be called "Shades of Grey" for some reason.

as its a BIG birthday coming up at the end of the year I am seriously thinking of getting a new twelve built, but don't know the best way to get hold of plans. Would I need to get hold of the designer directly and would I need their express permission to adapt it.
I am thinking that f producing the boat in wood so would have to modify the design to enable this.
any help appreciated

Shrouds should go from u bolt fitting on side deck through block attached to shroud, stainless steel, then through metal, if I remember rightly, sheeve block in side deck then down to muscle box. Should line up exactly.
Lower shrouds. Should be two ropes with bow lines on the end which slide over gooseneck and then through other sheeve block in side deck. Should then attatch to multipurchase in front of the mast. There should be nothing connected to a hole in the side deck, at all.
purple rope could be for jib stick. Hope this helps.
If not sure of lowers I can take some pics from my boat that has the same system if that would help?
