See Ebay item 320262607945, ending in a little over a day. Original 1929 designs in ink on paper for a 12 dinghy for Oxford University Sailing Club, 5 drawings in all. Looks like a precursor of the N12. The starting price is £65 and there are currently no bids. Worth a look for anyone interested in the early history of the class.

I owned N 2579 from sometime in the late 1990s to about 2000, having spotted her for sale at Port Edgar Marina,Edinburgh, and remembering sailing N 1262 as a teenager.  She was bright yellow and in fair condition. I renewed the side decks, repainted and revarnished her, but the consistent poor weather, summer after summer, meant I was hardly able to sail her.
I gave her away to a fellow member (£25 to club funds) at Loch Earn Sailing Club in reasonably good condition, though sails and rigging were tired and the centre plate had an alarming habit of popping up when going about.

I owned Conquest from about 1965,when I was 15, to 1972, sailing at Keyhaven, Hampshire. She was built for John Oakley, to whom I wrote asking about her. he replied that he remembered she was fast in light airs. I also wrote to Jack Holt asking for further information but he replied that a fire at the yard had destroyed all their early records. She had some success with John Oakley and this history can be found in Robin Steavenson's book. I sailed her mostly singlehanded, mucking about with friends in the Solent, going as far down as Cowes on one occasion and frequently crossing over to the Island. She was in good condition both when I bought her and when I sold her. I was very fond of her and would like to think that she is still sailing somewhere. I have some (terrible, fuzzy) photos of her.
