Now that Christmas has passed you must all be itching to get sailing again. I'll be at the Bloody Mary with Adele - how many more of you will be there? Lets get a decent turnout - Twelves have had some excellent results there over years gone by - maybe a win this year?

Any 12 sailors planning to sail at the Bloody Mary are welcome back to our house afterwards for some beer / wine / sloe gin (and also to help consume the remaining chocolates from Christmas). We're about 10 miles from the reservoir (J3 of the M3)

Merry Christmas

Anyone doing the Steward Cup at QM tomorrow (new years day)?  It's a 2 hour pursuit, tenner to non-members.  Briefing at 11, first start 12.
I found it mentioned at http://www.queenmary.org.uk/ag/agViewItem.asp?title=&sid=4&mid=867 - might be a useful warmup for the Bloody Mary.  Me & Joe will give it a crack as long as it's blowing less than a 5!

It's tomorrow!  Looks a little calm but all the better for us lightweights.

I've not done the Bloody Mary in 10+ years, but I guess it's a bit of a zoo getting boat to water.  I see the start is at 12, what time do folk tend to arrive?

Thanks,
matt

Yes - and lots of it!

Matt Stiles with his son in 3143 also put in a very good showing finishing 18th demonstrating that you don't need a new double bottomed boat to do well. I suspect plenty of rainwater bailing  though! We were mifed by the number of places we lost to Merlins in the extra quater of an hour or so it took us to reach a finish line beyond the 2.5 hours. I guess we just should have satyed closer to the leaders!!

Excellent results by the 12s - should get some good publicity from that.  Weather seemed pretty misearable on Saturday not much wind & loads of rain  :( the 'faster' classes must have hoped for Sundays weather.

Traditional classes seemed to do well - the Albacore that came 6th is from my home Club.
