We've teamed up with Wave Clothing to launch new N12 clothing for Burton Week. The range includes sweaters, hoodies and T-shirts in adults and kids sizes. All come with an embroidered N12 logo on the front and a great new design on the reverse, created by Jeremy especially for Burton Week.

Check out the range on the Wave Clothing website:

Don't forget to get your Burton Week entry in before 7th May to benefit from the early entry discount - a great excuse to do some T-shirt shopping!

We're hoping to come.

This event was brilliant last year and the club really looked after us - sailing on the Sunday might be a bit less hazy without all that free booze!

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately Burghfield have had to cancel the Gul open meeting and training planned this weekend due to the snow and worse weather forecast over the weekend which was going to make travelling a nightmare and sailing very very cold.

The good news is that Jeremy and the club are already looking to reschedule the event for later in the season. The next Gul events before Burton week are at Burwain on 21st April and Salcombe on 4th-6th May - hopefully the weather will be a bit more amenable by then!

Just wanted to echo John's comments and say a massive thank you to everyone involved at the dinghy show this weekend. Our stand looked fantastic and was busy throughout. Special thanks to Naomi who ensured everything was running smoothly over the weekend and also to John Meadowcroft and Tim Gatti who kindly brought their boats to the stand for all to see. It was great having two designs which really show off the variety within the class.

Thank you also to all those who took part in the task of setting up and packing away the stand. You can see their work in double quick time here: http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/news/168216/National-12-stand-time-lapse-video

Jeremy has also written an article about the weekend and the 12 stand which is on Yachts and Yachting:                        http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/news/168237/National-12s-at-the-RYA-Dinghy-Show

I hope to see you all at Burghfield - the first of our Gul Series Events in a few weeks time.

[face=verdana,geneva]Hi everyone,[/face]

[face=verdana, geneva]Just a quick reminder to start thinking about Burton Weekend 2013 and to book your accommodation as soon as you can.[/face]

[face=verdana, geneva]Next year’s champs will be held over 4 days at Brixham Yacht Club on the late May Bank Holiday Weekend (25th to 28th May). Brixham are well known as a successful and experienced Championship venue and everything has now been finalised with the club. Launching is easy and not affected by the tides, with a superb sailing area close to the harbour. The club are planning an exciting line up of socials for us including a boat trip around Tor Bay, and their location in the centre of town makes everything an easy walk away.[/face]

[face=verdana, geneva]There is a whole host of accommodation options around Brixham from campsites, to B&Bs and self catering flats but it's advisable to book early. The local tourist information website is a good place to start, check out: www.englishriveriera.co.uk/where-to-stay/places-to-stay/brixham[/face]

[face=verdana, geneva]The entry form will go out in the New Year. In the meantime if you have any questions or would like any more information please don’t hesitate to get in touch.[/face]

Hi everyone,

The NTOA has been approached about a potential open meeting in Europe to be held jointly with other classes. Carnac in France in May 2014 was suggested as a possible venue. An overseas event has been talked about before and I think this would be something we'd be keen to do.

Please could you reply to this post if you would consider attending so we can gauge interest.

To give you an idea, here is some of the details I've been given:
- Entry is likely to be around â,¬150 for a 4 day event including a dinner - extra socials can be negotiated.
- Should only require 1 or 2 days holiday depending on where people were based.
- For those that haven't been it's a really nice club with lots of space, sheltered launching into the harbour, good sailing area and a nice tourist town with loads for shore party and good wining / dining options. It's also only 7 hours from Calais, 4 1/2 from Le Havre or 2 hours from Brest so relatively easy to get to.

This all sounds good to me, so let me know what you think. (N.B. following the discussion at the AGM we're looking at running Burton Weekend 2014 in August anyway, so there wouldn't be a clash).

Cheers,

Chris

Hi everyone

The Dinghy Show at Alexandra Palace is now only a month away. This year we will have the new Dead Cat Bounce on the stand as well as access to our website and the boat database. We are also lucky to be part of the treasure hunt and as usual will have video footage of 12 sailing on display.

We’ll need as much help as possible over the weekend (6th/7th March) and setting up and taking down the stand on Friday and Sunday evenings. If you can make it along please let us know when you’ll be able to help out by emailing christian.day@hotmail.co.uk

Also if anyone has any video footage from last year please let us know.

Cheers
