If you did a run of 20 hulls - and sold them at a price the market set, not the builder then the class might attract a lot of new members.

What is that price?

I'd like someone to show me a boat that actually proves the 12 to be expensive for what it is. vacuum bagged, epoxy, full carbon rig, this is high quality stuff in general we are talking. It SHOULD be more expensive than an RS 200 and I cant think of a single boat that compares otherwise....

From following the Bladerider moth project, they are building 50 boats in a chinese factory and  are still selling boats more expensive than the competitors. lord knows when their tooling costs will be covered alone...

Try Sicomin (Matrix Composites) in Bristol. Very helpfull if you need small quantities...

Travel is important. More allows better boom squaring downwind. Ideally you want so much travel as to be able to get the boom out to near 90degrees....

I only ever had 8:1 on the main shroud bit, witha  single line system as Meds described for both shrouds on 16:1. The reduced purchase allowed a lot of travel.

As long as your adjustment method works, stick with the screw...

Would normally agree with you, but mine is a different shade of blue and is not listed in the settings bit! Has something changed since it started Grazz?!

Fluke = Tom Edom, not heard from him for a while - built himself a oneoff wooden moth a couple of years ago and I believe is trying to make it fly...

At this rate you are going to have covered all of the last 5 or so years of rule discussions in one thread, in one week! Good going.  ;D

I would use it.

Main thing with daggerboards/daggerboard rudders is you can choose to sail with them half up and still have a sensibly balanced boat whereas you cant with a centreboard. I actually thing it's inferior to a db in shallow waters. As long as you can take the impacts out (eg with a raking db box) there really is no problem.

Hmm, I don't know, sounds a bit dangerous - what about sailing in restricted waters? You might run aground?!

Terry and Angie will be there in Boatyard Dog, although I am sure this event is the one at which the annual fall-out occurs and usually sets the tone for their sailing for the rest of the year... Terry actually did fall out last year mind!

I will be there in my silly boat, look forward to waving at you from my upturned lime green swimming machine
