Got to be better than last week - we had 45 knots on Thursday in Weymouth!

The current designs are generally royalty based varying from 75 to 150 per boat. Only the final chapter and variants (man o war) can be built in ply.

As Jimbo has said, I have a couple of moulds for varying designs and could supply just the bare hull shell for you to complete - this takes the hard part out...

Not wanting to hijack the thread but it seemed silly starting a new one...

I still have the MD boats foolish moulds, and the Big Isssue 2 moulds sat in the workshop, so if anyone wants a nice custom boat built to their spec please get in touch with me!

Cheers

[quote by=Jimbo42 link=Blah.cgi?b=Cool1,m=1183376217,s=4 date=1183402528]There were rumours flying about about a Feeling Foolish Mk II. Does the version by Ovingtons differ from the original design in any way?

Called Numinous isn't it?

Do we have a big gap to get to 3510/3511?

Have there been 5 boats built since last summer?

They are a good shape, if a little on the fat side for 12's. I think they are thicker for engineering purposes... My brother actually had a cut down 600 foil on his boat at one point, and while it weighed a ton, it worked ok.

Good luck

Good for the above. I am also sure we can trust the committee. What the MPS sailors want/do dosn't really have anything to do with us at all......

What they do does, as not all good ideas come from 12 sailors alone.

Yes, but in the green flying machine...

Dont use single pack on carbon, will last about 5 minutes.

Any decent 2 pack Varnish will offer good UV protection.

So then, the argument should be why there are no fast boats on the secondhand boat list and not why aren't there any DB boats for sale.

Rick's assumption that DB status equates with speed is pretty much spot on though. All the boats around the DB introduction onwards are generally stiffer, lighter and nicer designs than those before - To an outsider its a pretty easy distinction and a good one to make a boat choice on. So they have made a choice, one they can't do anything about!

Matrix Composites in Bristol sell a paint called deckline, which is soft rubber particles in resin. Its a bit fun to actually paint on, but the final grip is excellent and doesnt eat your knees...

Ignore it if you like, but its a good suggestion...

I don't really see that banning carbon would knock that much of a product who's major cost is labour; this would also perhaps stop new builds as people hang onto their old carbon boat.

Nah, I can only think of three carbon Foolishes...
