I 14, B14, laser 4000 and 49er seem to have a variable width and (for some) fixed minimum weight. Anyone underweight has to stick weight onto the hull and in the case of the 49er on the transom (ugh!).
Not correct ... only the L4000 uses weight equalisation. All the others have a max width and min weight just like a N12

Super! The 80 Worlds is a real success. Is it open to everyone? By the way, I'm not anti - just cautious. I am also not trying to pounce on your arguments all the time. It's just I don't see where you want to go. I know this is not the point of the thread (a frequent problem of mine) but seeing as you discuss numbers and races in the MUSTO class:
What in your opinion should we as a class be doing?
Make that clear and perhaps I can be more constructive in my comments (instead of thinking "Oh my G_d, what's coming next?)

Cheers and no hard feelings to anyone. :D

Look I am just sharing my thoughts, thats what you do on forums but seeing as you are so active here I am wondering why I bother, I only asked for dates and the you hijack this thread in another direction  ...

I think the class should do what the members (and prospective members) want which I am sure they expressed in the survey.

Give me an example that's been implemented in the 12 class.
Jimbo ... I don't know why you are so anti ... but as you are forcing the point I believe the survey was somthing the Musto Class has been doing on-line for 3 years and the 12's thought a good idea and the Musto boat database on the forum was runnng some months ahead of the 12 implimentation. see

http://www.mustoskiff.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=8&sid=00330618ba5409ad3b5263ed7d2d910f

If a class can't learn anything from new members bringing in new ideas then I think that class has a problem

BTW the Mutso class is growing well year on year and is about to have it's first 80 boat worlds.

A great days sailing, sunshire waves and wind. Only the two twelves.Should we look at trying to join the Merlins on the Sunday following for an open meeting if HISC will have us. We are short on sea events.
... short, somewhat of an understatement!!

Sounds like an excellent idea.
Only just read through this thread; various points to observe:-

1. No S/h DBs for sale? Did I see that N3491 Electric Prune is for sale? And last year no sensible offers for Crazy Diamond (Big Issue 2).
That boat wasn't on the list when I started this thread ...

I fear I may have stumbled into an old issue ...

I was just asking about availability of 2nd hand boats as someone had asked me who had seen mine ...

With regards to older boats it's worth recognising that in One-Designs and Manufactures classes you don't usually see 10 year old boats at the front of the fleet; some exceptions of course but usually the keener people have newer boats.

Seems to me the NTOA do more to accomodate and recognise older boats then any other class assocation.

There are no old boat prizes at the Laser or RS events ...
Rick brought a second hand boat and is alway talking about new boats so if you can afford it go get one and release your's to another.
I have only had this one 5 minutes but I would be perhaps interested in a new boat in years to come once I have understood more about the boats.

The reason I raised this is because a friend showed interest in my boat and I was going to email him some options and I had never seen the 2nd hand boat list devoid of any DB's - thats good & bad ...
