Looks good great work it will be a shame if no one builds it just to see how it goes.

I wonder if it would involve much head scratching and mods to the frame to build one out pre-laminated foam sandwich sheets. In a similar way to how Clive Everest built his cherub.

Sorry folks we have looked at wind and decided with my glass shoulder and our lack of practice to give it a miss. Looks like those that do make it along are going right royal blast with the wind forcast to be keeping dogs at the end of their chains ;)

Kez and me are thinking of coming along is there any chance of borrowing a boat from anyone, please? Due to lack of tow bar.

This is slightly off topic but has got any plans to watch the rugby on saturday night?

Hello I think I can send some light on this, John is right. When the boat was at Ardleigh her then owner had a leaky bow tank due to as I was told a cracked fillet where tank meets the hull and instead of repairing it probably he went for the easy option by cutting a hold in the tank and sticking a bag in.
I would put her on the water go sailing and see if she leaks and then when the weather turns for the winter think about fixing the leaks if necessary and replace the bulkhead.

Hello Matt, some other dates you might want to look out for our Four Plank events which focus on fun friendly racing on inland waters.
The whole mast ram/adjestable stroud thing is pretty simple especially if you are sailing on inland waters. Basicly unless you getting over powered up wind set the mast ram and leave it and strouds simperly set the tension and only let a stroud off so you can square the boom off downwind.
As a side note I set my 12's up by using the jib halyard to set the rake and shrouds to provide the tension.

Boats / Re: N2881 Beggars Maid

I should really leave this to Bosun Bob but never mind this is Beggars Maid on first day Milton Keynes SC looking great in Cobolt Blue. She has since had bow fixed and most of a new transom scarfed in.

Beggars Maid now makes the Milton Keynes sailing clubs 12 fleet up to 3 or 4 if I (smilie) get both my 12's on the water.

Below shows how fine subversion's entry really is and how much her transom is pinned in.

Hello Pete doing a repair in carbon isn't much different to doing a repair in glass. It does sound like if letting the water in then you will cracked core as well which again isn’t the hardest thing to fix depending on size. I would suggest either posting  some photos or emailing some over and I will take a look.
If you are wondering where get materials from I have found these guys are pretty good at the mo http://www.ecfibreglasssupplies.co.uk/p-3261-225g-plain-weave-carbon-fibre-108-wide-per-mt.aspx

It’s also worth have a look round the Cherub class forum because there will probably some advice on fixing cracks in carbon boats ;o)

It’s raining so thought I would stick my oar in, I’m wondering if a good compromise might to hold the inland champs north of Watford gap? And then if Burton WK is held north then the inlands could be held in the south.
I ‘spose the big questions and possible elephant in the room are the 12’s finding harder to book champs venues with a reduced fleet? Also has anyone one got a real handle on the spread of the 12 fleet these days (maybe another thread for people to give the number of 12’s sailing at their club is order?) I have feeling that most the new boats are in the south east and with older boats sailing in the midlands up.

Anyways those are my thoughts.

In the sence that clouds have silver linings the postponment means that there's a pretty good chance both Milton Keynes SC fourplankers will make it along :)

At the moment my current thinking is to have a one day sailing event with some kind of event in the evening and then if people want to stay over and join in the club racing they can.
I'm not sure if it will work is Ely held it's team racing trophy on the sunday after the 4P open and joining in with at least a 12 team would good if they do the same again, might have convice them not to run it in Toppers though ;)
