I would just like to point out that rohan and i tip the scales at around 15 stone and would be most upset if anything was done to make it even more difficult for us to keep up with the fatties. The 12 is a great family boat lets keep it that way.
By the way I also put on weight as I get fitter but not enough to make much difference and it doesn't seem to make much difference how many chocy buscuits and chips Rohan eats he still doesn't get heavier or at least not fast enough.

Its all very well getting new this and that, but I think most of us (especially me) could gain most by sailing better. I know there is no point on spending much moey on the boat until I start sailing more than once or twice a month and when I do simple things such as self bailers that let water out rather than in and shiney new gunnels will be top of the list.

Tummel Regatta 15th 16th September. Great place to sail, would be good if we could get a few 12s turning up. There are one or two people there who are showing some interest in 12s and it might be a possible open meeting venue in the future. I can probably provid accomodation on Friday night but it may only be floor space.

I thought  you all might like to know that having finally got to work removing my rather spectacular gunnels that so many of you admired at Ripon, that for once Bernard was right and some fairly large grub like things had been tunneling their way through my gunnels. They had long since left but if does seem a fairly drastic way of weight reduction.
Also on the subject of beasties, when I struck my tent at tummel week on lifting my air bed I found that a cheeky vole had eaten a couple of holes in the ground sheet. Just as well the air bed was not to its taste or me and my crew could have found our selves being let down in the middle of the night. :o

Due to my book worm crew I'll only be there for the Saturday this year. Edinburgh book festival on Sunday. I'll do my best to test out the rescue boat again and hope it blows up a gale on Sunday again so I won't miss any sailing. Is the ICM making use of the commodores wife again ::)

Yep it is a pretty standard scam, they get a lot of them on second hand boats and outboards. I was approached this way when selling my china doll. Works as jimbo says.
sorry as jammy dodger says

Yep I used to sail one years ago, never really learnt how to sail it although my swimming did improve. My best memory is when I went flying, unfortunaetly not in the modern style as i left the boat behind. Just screamed by a 505 when I hit the wake of a motor boat and did a Chaddwick. Boat stopped I didn't. By the time I got back to the boat the 505 had long gone.
Kean maybe its 12 sailors desperately trying to recapture their youth. I think that was when I first stated to go grey. :B

In a moment of weekness (I have many) I bought myself a skol international moth on ebay. Unfortunately it is in kent and I am in Perth.  Can anybody help moving it north. It does not have a trailer but will go on a roof rack. I can be contacted on angus3@tesco.net
Any movement north would be helpful, I am willing to pay reasonable costs.

The date is getting nearer, I can guarentee there will be no shortage of water, and the midge eater is working full pelt. I have been feeding up my worms and teaching them how to use paddles, so if you see me dipping a gunnel under it is not lack of control but to get them near the water for more efficient paddling.
By the way best bring your own beer :D
