The 12 will be a great boat for you to sail. I have been sailing one with my children since they were born. Nick is now 15 and bored of sailing with me.
He sailed our baggy with his 11 year old sister all day today so if you have been sailing a phantom you should have no problem sailing with a small crew.
The type of 12 depends on how much you want to spend and how heavy you are but most 12s are ok  with a small crew.
I'm sure someone will let you try one.  Which club are you from?
Gerald (3411 3280 & 2881 )
PS  It was a junior training day today and most of them asked for a go in the 12 because it's much more fun for them than Lasers or Toppers

Nick (3411) wants to go with Luke both days but I am unable to be there on Saturday night so it will be difficult without camping on site and no vehicle.
How far is the nearest campsite - Is it walking distance.
What  time is the training expected to finish on Saturday?
Thanks
Gerald (3411)

Congratulations to Northampton  and especially Tom and Charlotte for a great days sailing superbly organised with extremely good value food.
Amazed to see how so many boats were able to get in and out of the club with such ease.
I understand that over £3000 was raised so well done to all who helped.
Looking forward to Burghfield.

3411 will be there and possibly 3280 as well
I might sack Nick before the event and go with Tanya
Nick has also grown and we may now be over 16 stone so he'll have to go.

Many Thanks to Paul for organizing anither great days sailing (interesting and challenging). Congratulations to Graham and zoe on winning in a slow boat
and to David and Tricia on winning the Midland Area. Also many thanks to Alverbank sails for generously sponsoring this with two half jibs on offer.
One more mention to Tom who was sailing so fast that us AC boats were happy not to have him with us.

I'll just sail down the middle. The rudder makes us so much faster the tide is irrelevant.
ps just been out for a meal for our 20th wedding anniversary so maybe we'll need a new sail too.

Family Copsey will be there with new rudder
I think Tanya is crewing for Steve Le Grys but I've only got one set of ear defenders so should I give them to Steve or Tanya??

I would also like to say thank you to Tynemouth. It was a great place to sail and although we bottled it in saturday we had a nice sail back with our personal rescue boat ( almost 1 for each competitor). Sundays racing was less challenging and a super sail. The race officer set a good short line and a good course with some excellent reaches. Steve forgot to say he won (far to modest ) He and Jo showed how it should be done on both days winning all four races.Philip David(crewd by Anthony Copsey) was 2nd in both Saturady races and 2nd overall. Chris and Sophie were 3rd in both saturday races and 3rd overall. Dave Peacock ( with Tricia ) was 2nd in both Sunday races and fourth overall.
Please go next year. there are not many clubs who have supported the class for 60 years so lets try to make it special.
