With the break for christmas now over, tis the time to remove some excess weight and what better way than to come along to the next event in the Burghfield Winter Series!
This coming Sunday(13th) sees races five and six in the series and this will be followed, strangely enough, by races seven and eight on Sunday 20th Jan. With the series running on two consective weekends there is currently plenty of space to leave your boats at the club for both weekends, so if you are planning on the Bloody Mary on the Saturday why not leave your boat packed up and drop it down to Burghfield on the sunday.....at least it'll be easier to launch!
Wind conditions are anyone's guess at present but  Metcheck is saying there will be at least 12mph around the weekend period.

As before if you are considering coming drop  me an e-mail so that I can get an idea of numbers

Like the idea, would be useful to know where people are1

The Musto Skiffs have a similar map too....

if you want to try out a twleve before Xmas then you could pop down the M4 to Burghfield Sailing Club, we have a few differnet designs based at the club and a bunch of enthusiastic members who would give you a ride so that you could compare single bottomed to double bottomed etc
if you are interested just drop me a mail

Thanks Mike!

Our club manager is not up to speed on the history of the 12's and Bim's relationship to the designs! Will get it corrected this morning. Sorry your foils went to the doctors, hope they are not serious.

And to every one, well worth remembering to give the islands some respect, I would never suggest going closer than about 3-4m as they have gently shelving shores at this time of year, with the lake levels currently at their lowest.

A couple of pics I took in the morning when I wasn't feeling so well!!!!

Mike,

there is a chandlery onsite who could do that for you, but it is as easy as you say, drill out the old rivets and pop rivet some new in. Would be good to get monel rivets from somewhere like P&B though as these are designed for Carbon. Our chandlery doesn't stock them so a quick order to P&B and they should be in the post by tomorrow giving you plenty of time to get the foot on!

Great that you are planning on coming...!

forgot to add... worth spending a bit of time to make sure that the mastfoot is lined up square to the spreaders before you drill the new holes or else you'll have a twisted rig... not good!

Yep, Turnout is looking good, looking like at least five BSC  boats  participating plus a good number of visitors.
Wind currently westerly (one of our favoured directions for a good beat!)
Two races, 1st start 11am then a nice hot lunch and the second start at approx 1.30pm!

Looking forward to a great turnout and some challenging competition......

With the BSC Winter series start now only 3 weeks away it would be great if any participants interested could e-mail me directly so that I can put together contact list for any information that should come out about the events. Could you therefore e-mail to the folloing address indicating which dates you might be most interested in attending .... if not all!..... so that I can get ideas of numbers etc.

Reminder of dates:

25th november 07
9th december 07

Look forward to seeing you there, though will probably have a hangover on the first day due to the Clubs annual dinner dance the night before!
Could you e-mail me as soon as possible so that I can do the appropiate planning... Thanks!
