N.2693 variously named "Red Hot Shot" or "Trim Little Pair". The image shows the boat returning to the shore having lost its mast during an early Vintage Twelve Open Meeting at Trent Valley S.C., year 1995. The reason for the retirement was that the joint between the side deck and the rear end of the foredeck failed, due to dodgy glue. The side deck pulled up, taking the shroud with it and the mast came down. Shown in the boat are John Richardson and Christine Preston. The boat was quickly repaired by Arthur Richardson and sold very shortly afterwards, I know not where. Ken Goddard |
