On first launching her I had blue sails as my previous boat was an Enterprise. This gave amusment to some as it was held that I would be eaisly spotted when over the starting line. This was before the days of OCS and black flags. I found this design sensitive to weight and trim. It went in a blow but othewise was a bit of a slowcoach. I fitted a centre mainsheet as did many after the windy Weymouth 1967 Burton, which I did not complete. At the Graffham open meeting later that year we filled up going to windward while doing quite well. Although not much of a race winner it gave me much enjoyment and a love for the class, :owhich brought about another two twelves. |
