The first owner of this boat was a Mr. N.B.Broom, of the Teign Corinthian S.C.. I note from my scrapbook that I sailed against her in the National 12 class races at the 1970 Royal Torbay Regatta. She was helmed then by Gavia Wilkinson-Cox, who put the boat up for sale a year or two later, for £175. The lady helm then, was to an extent, more interesting than the boat. In recent years Gavia Wilkinson-Cox has turned up as a major organiser of racing in the Solent and at Cowes Week. National Twelve sailors shine everywhere! Ken Goddard |
