Used to belong to a guy called Ray Brewin at Trent SC in the 1960s. I often crewed for him - he had no permanent crew and took whoever he could pick up. The boat was always lovingly maintained but was usually at the back of the fleet!

I've just bought Waxwing from Ebay and am in the process of getting her back in shape. There's a fairly crude fibre glass repair to the hull, but otherwise she seems sound. A modest winter project...

Advertised on Apollo Duck website, February 2012. Located in Stratford-on-Avon.
Advertisment reads...
"A classic and well-preserved National 12, suitable for cruising or vintage racing. Waxwing is a 1958 Ian Proctor designed Mark IVA with a professionally built hull, Proctor aluminium spars and a steel centre plate.

I bought Waxwing in 2009 and over-hauled her in 2010 (see list below). She has been very lightly sailed for just a few days since and is stored in the dry every winter.

Replaced halyards, some standing rigging, kicker, buoyancy bag straps, mast chocks, outhaul. Epoxy repairs to centre board case. Sanded and repainted hull (including fairing a previous fibreglass repair), varnished decks and transom, stripped and over-hauled rudder.

Included are a full cover in good condition, two mains and two jibs (serviceable but probably not suitable for racing) and a sturdy and serviceable road trailer, but no launch trolley"
