As far as is known, Purgatory was always a Trent Valley boat. In 1957, it was owned by Mr. & Mrs P.E.J. Hunt and always named Purgatory. In its heyday, Purgatory was a very successful club boat. Joe Hunt was a Commodore of the Club. The boat left Hunt ownership in around 1971/2. It turned up a couple of years later in the ownership of the nearby Trent College school. For boats left to, or bought by, the school this was inevitably their last home. Ken Goddard |
