Classic Dinghy Seeks Good Home
We want to find a new home for our National12 sailing dinghy #3109 Gnasher, in its impeccable condition, ready to sail. Check out the class which will celebrate its 90th anniversary:- https://www.national12.org; for history of this boat see >Owners Resources >Boat Database>3109.
Originally built in 1980, completely & skillfully restored in 2006/7 as a joint project by original builder Donald Acklam & small boat craftsman Tim Gatti,- stored under cover since then. Rob Peebles ‘Pipedream’ design with narrow entry, specifically designed for inland waters. 12 feet (3,66m !) length is not very much for 2 crew, but easy to handle and suits crew weight 100-135kg,- often sailed by adult & child.
We have this gem since 2008, when we wanted a classic dinghy with thoroughbred credentials but w/o spinnaker. Little sailed in recent years as with our combined age including boat now over two centuries! we get a bit stiff to move around in this restricted space & we have 5 other classic wooden dinghies; it’s time to pass on the helm……..
Everything is there, as you see it. Painted/varnished wooden hull. Alu mast & boom. 3 sets of sails, most recent (DS) very little used. ‘Dangly pole’,- a kind of highly efficient jib-stick. Lifting rudder. Fixed rigging replaced in 2019, With combi trailer & spare wheel, Cover & lighting set all in good order. Illustrated rigging guide. Visible at Taisnières sur Hon (Franco-Belgian border)
I want her to go to a good home & new lease of life
