1419 ‘ Comaha’

FOR SALE: Vintage National 12 Dinghy , previously of Henley Sailing Club. Current location - mid Cheshire. No. 1419 " Comaha" 1955 Mark VI. Single hull. Wooden Clinker built dinghy. Designed by Ian Proctor and built in Nottingham by Wych and Coppock in 1955. Original makers label intact. Mainsail and gib 1960 by Ratsey and Lapthorn of Gosport. In good condition. Sheets in good condition . Wooden mast repaired in 2006 but now needs further attention to lowest 10 cm.Original galvanised steel pivoting centreboard. Four buoyancy bags ..viability uncertain though currently well inflated. Rudder and wooden tiller also in useable condition. Spirit level intact. Summer cover. Functional Towing trailer and launching trailer. Bungs to drainage holes perished (current ones probably from science lab!!)
Needs much revarnishing notably on external surface of the bow. The deck also needs varnishing with patching or replacement of the right half because of a hole close to the mast slot. Mast also needs revarnishing. All other equipment is ready to use.
Stored under two covers and seems in sound condition.
This dinghy was sailed for many years from the early 1960's through to the 1990s by my father on the Thames at Henley Sailing Club. Seats anteriorly made for fun family sailing ( five of us on occasions!) Suit enthusiast for this vintage National Twelve model. Sixty six years old .Time for a new home, renovation and a return to the water in 2022. Happy to liaise about moving her.
