Thanks for the information. I hope the weather is a bit better than last year. Didnt get much sleep with the tent blowing all over the place.

I usually camp at Ilton Farm Campsite. Its on the left off the road from Malborough to Salcombe. Its got good views being on top of the hill but its a good walk into Salcombe. Details can be found on its website.
Can someone tell me if we have to pay the harbour dues when competing in the open? The online booking adds it to the entry fee but I dont think it is mentioned on the paper entry form. Do we have to pay for boat parking at Shadycombe as well?

Thanks to all the visitors for coming to Burwain and congratulations to Philip David and Caroline Clarke for winning the event. There are some very good photos taken by ex-Burwain turned photographer Paul Hargreaves on his website.

First race at 11am. Mark Simpson may need a crew if a babysitter cannot be found.

Mark Simpson has emailed to say he is planning to be there. I will be sailing 3502 and lending 3361 to a pair of enlighted GP14 sailors so it looks like we are up to eight boats already.

Boats / Re: N3502 Carbonara

Purchased by Patrick Hamilton May 2011 and sailed at Burwain Sailing Club in Lancashire.

Burwain Sailing Club are looking forward to hosting this event. I hope the Northern N12 sailors will be out in force. It would be helpful if you could let me know if you are coming. If you are short of a crew I should be able to find one at our club. You are welcome to camp on the Saturday night (there is a Junior Travellers Series event on the Saturday). No shortage of rain in Lancashire so the lake is nearly full and at its best!
Cheers

Yes, thanks Tom and P&B. I have just bought a new mainsail from P&B so now I have a full new suit. All set for the new season.

I can help out for a couple of hours on Saturday anytime after 12.

I started going to the championships when the four day format was introduced and have been the the last three. It seems like a proper holiday with all the sailing and socials packed in. Its competitive but friendly and the enthusiasm for sailing 12's is infectious.

The wind was quite good in the afternoon and we had a nice sail in the sunshine. Chris and Gareth were near the front in the Guy Fawkes pursuit but we were nearer the back. Thanks to Chris,Sophie and everyone at Leigh and Lowton involved in organising the event. The pub quiz was fun and it was nice to be amoungst the prize winners for a change.

3502 will be coming from Burwain. Please put us down for two meals on Saturday night (one veggie). We will be dusting off the trivial pursuit set to get prepared for this event.

General National 12 chat / Bass week

Its good to see that there are already 6 National 12s on the entry list for Bassenthwaite Week. Is anyone else thinking of making the trip?

I agree with Andy, Yorkshire Dales would be  great venue for a Gill Series meeting, lots of space, excellent clubhouse, beautiful location in a National Park and its always windy.
