Still got the Bouncer mast, but you would have to come and collect it. It is straight.

I have an ally mast, that I am keeping as a spare. It is a Supa Spars mast of off a Bouncer. It probably needs re-rigging, I would if I had to use it, but you can have it if you want. I live in Wiltshire just off the A303. I will be at the Dinghy Show on Sunday, if that helps.

Yes! Yes! And yes again. Marvellous idea. Invite the Greek N12 guys and girls and any other Eurropean N12'ers. Have a European Champs?. Have it in Greece? Sorry got carried away, but it's a thought.

Decorating has turned into somewhat of a rebuild, so she is not on the water yet. I have almost reached the stage of fitting cleats, fairleads and control lines and would welcome any advice.
What do I need to do about shroud adjusters? I rather fancy some of the Quadrant type, as they a are period, Does anyone know where I can get some?
I would also like some ideas regarding placement of cleats, jib controls, mainsheet controls, mast bend controls and control lines for kicker and centre board, so if any one can post/sed me picture of the inside of current Smugglers I would be very grateful (email nigwynr@virginmedia.com). Iwant to keep the boat as period as i am able, but she has been fettled at some time in the past and I dont think the hull will take the stresses of a fully udated rig, besides I cant afford that.
I have a Superspars mast with spreaders ally boom and dacron sails.
Thanks, Nigel Reece.

Whilst I have read alot on the site regarding winged Rudder blades in the recent past and debate and information is still going on, I have not seen anything on tabbed/flapped centre boards and I would like to.
I find this aspect of development fascinating, probably becuase I can under stand the thoery better, so can any body answer the following questions;
1. Are the flaps/tabs on the leading edge or the trailing edge? which is best?
2. How are the tabs/flaps adjusted? and is the adjustment manual or automatic?
3. Is the mechanism complicated/?expensive
3. Does the change in hydrodynamic profile of the board that the flaps create have any significant effect?
4. Is retro fit a feasible proposition?
Please help me to under stand this better.
Thanks Nigel Reece

I told you. It works best if you are inside the red thing.

If you a happy to take the risk of putting a rusty 12 st lump in the front of Mr Jones, I would be happy to help. I need the practice before putting Pippin(2134) back on the water.
I can do any day given notice, I only live in Salisbury so its not too far.
Phone 01980632513 or mail nigwynr@virginmedia.com.
I am going to come down one day anyway to get some ideas on fitting out an old 12.

"Team, I think THIS amphibious idea is a non-starter. May will never go for it, but then again if we spin it right he just might."

Just got my first 12, a Smuggler by the name of Pippin. I am informed by her previous owner, a Mr C Cox that she was 1st owned by a Mr J Cox, no relation, I have seen that he sailed her in Brixham YC Regatta in 1967.
You will not be suprised to know that she is mainly orange in colour and no I am not going to change either the name or the colour.

Many thanks to Chris Cox, Pippin has now passed to my very grateful hands.
After some decorating and time honoured bimbling I will be using her to teach my two offspring how to sail and hopefully reminding my wife what she has missed.
Soon to be beached no more.

The conditions do explain the need for the huge amount of rocker and the metal center plate, it makes icebreaking more likely and damage less so.
Sadly still beached:'(
