DON’T HAVE A BOAT?
Not everyone in the UK is lucky enough to own a 12 but if you are one of those unlucky people and you are interested in entering Burton Week in 2010 do not despair, the class association will do its best to try and find a boat you can borrow/hire for the event.
WHAT BOATS MIGHT BE AVAILABLE?
As a development class there are various types of 12, Double bottomed, Admirals Cup (single bottomed), and Vintage. All compete together during Burton Week though there are additional Trophies for the older boats. At present it is not possible to state which types of 12 might be available to non owners, but whichever design you end up with there will be a competitive fleet for you to race against at the event.
HOW DO I GO ABOUT GETTING A BOAT?
Firstly, we would recommend that you start enquiring about the possibility of getting hold of a boat as soon as possible to give you the best chance of not being disappointed. In order to try and match people to boats quickly we have a dedicated topic on the National 12 Forum in which you can request help finding a boat and also browse boats that might be available and contact their owners. You can sign onto the forum as a guest even if you are not a member of the NTOA. Use the linked text to take you straight to the NTOA Forum link.
HOW WILL THE BOAT GET TO WEYMOUTH?
Assuming that we can match you to a boat, you may need to pick it up and return it depending upon which part of the country it is from and who else might be coming from that area.
