I posted this on the NWNW thread about Microclipper "wot I hav just bought" but no one has responded either way.

Would any of you North West Norfolk folks object to me trying out an experimental main that week - it's one that Kevan Bloor rustled up a few years ago? It measures but it is fully battoned.

1. NWNW don't mind if you guys don't.
2. I don't have a decent sail for the boat, and I would like to finish on the same day as the rest of you
3. And I'm not going to win whatever sails I use - it's just for fun and interest

I await with interest! 8)

Would you guys be mortally offended if we (ie me, Christine and Dolly Daydream) only came down for the Sunday? :-/

Assume it is 3 out of four races to qualify?

Wow - looks like fourteen (14) yots going and there are still 10 days to go before the late entry fee kicks in.

And a note to Ice Cream Man - I have retired from Evolution :o

Went to Frensham last year and it was a super weekend! Well organised, good pond, and we had excellent sailing weather! Only problem - but three N12s. I will be there again this year in Dolly Daydream (we got seriously penalised for having Pentex sails and a dangley pole but still managed 2nd!) - hope to see lots of other N12s there this year. It is listed as a vintage event so will count towards the Witchcraft Bailer.

Greetings NWNW sailors - Adrian Tebbut tells that only 4 N12 have entered so far (plus me who hasn't entered yet coz I didn't know what boat I would have to sail in!). Come on chaps, get those entry forms in! lolP

PS Will reply to Ice Cream Man next week with some very interesting news................ ;)

I am assured by our race officers that the queries about the tie breaks have been resolved. ??)

Apparently our event has been listed as an official vintage Mxrlxn Rxckxt vintage open - so we want to get more N12s there than they can muster! And it's easy to beat them on the river! :P

So far there are six MRs booked in, but only four N12s (plus 3 half raters and other assorted 25yo craft) - it should be pretty busy on the water - and there is the added value of our summer ball.

If your boat is pre 3200 (approx 1982) then you will qualify! Hope you can join us. :K)

If so, you ought to know that the CVRDA and Trent Valley SC are running a special sailing weekend Saturday 30th June/Sunday 1st July - this is in addition to the Vintage/4 PLank event in September!

The weekend will include time trails on Saturday from 10.00 (F1 style with a maximum of three attempts at the fastest lap of the course), a grand Summer Ball to celebrate the Clubhouse's 100th birthday (with band including yours truly on guitar/sax, disco with famous in his own lunchtime local radio DJ and absolutely fabulous food in three marquees) plus handicap racing on the Sunday (three races from 10.30am). You can bring ANY boat over 25yo! :D

To book or for more info please ring Roger Britton on 07866 520 601 or contact me.

Oh, and John Sears has acquired a 30yo boat especially for the event! :o

Wow! So the score so far (and I'm not good at maths) looks like 10ish already! Can we persaude more to join us?

And yes Phil I have sold N3500 to hopefully a much faster home; my place is clearly in the vintage fleet (although I have acquired MicroClipper for NWNW).

And there is more hot news about...........................to follow........... :o

I know that NWNW clashes with the Burton (Saturday 28th July to Saturday 4th August) but who (apart from me) is chickening out and going east to enjoy the four "S"s of the Norfolk ? 8)

Paul TVSC N3157/2487/2020 (but not N3500!)

PS 4"S"s = sand, sea, sun and sailing?

Only just read through this thread; various points to observe:-

1. No S/h DBs for sale? Did I see that N3491 Electric Prune is for sale? And last year no sensible offers for Crazy Diamond (Big Issue 2).

2. What is so great about DB anyway? I have had the floor taken out of N3500 and she is so much more comfortable to sail, and much easier to handle/get around. And even in a capsize she will only half fill with water thanks to a wide central full lenght bouyancy tank. (As I sail inland most of the time, I might just go back to an AC boat if a reasonable offer comes along for N3500).

3. So what are post N3414 non DB boats classed as now? Apparently not AC, but what? Crazy Diamond is not the only one that has been converted.

Well bouys & girls, we seem to have 20+ probable entries already and it's not even Saturday!

We can accomodate up to 42 boats on our seeded flights system so there is still time and space for you to enter.

The forecast is wetter but WINDIER than last year's drift!

Stop Press - Mike Day has just confirmed (but don't let that put you off!)

Greetings! And a message for the crewless (ie Mike Day, Derek Davis and possibly Nick Gill hisself if his knees are OK)! We are circulating TVSC members today and will post back asap! Paul  ;D
