General National 12 chat / Crew wanted

Is there anybody interested in crewing for me This Sunday at Newburn? In the faint hope somebody is mad enough you can email me at angus3 at Tesco.net or my number is in the book.

Just a minor point about the GUL results but I thought 3410 was an AC boat am I wrong?
#63
Yes brilliant pics, so glad you didn't publish any of me flopping about like a drowning rat, but maybe you are saving them for blackmail.

Great to see so many AC boats out. Brilliant weekend and I even got home before the pubs closed.

Ee By gum 20 to 5 just got to get the bread out the oven and I'm off.

Hi I have now found a crew. We will both be wanting T and camping.

A great weekend. Many thanks to Ian Purkis and Solway yacht club for providing a great event right down to providing heavy rain just after we came off the water on Sunday to ensure all the salt was washed off our boats and kit! I also must thank all those people who sat out on Saturday allowing me to win the Mariners Mug. Mr. Bill and my crew revelled in the conditions even if the poor old man in the back of the boat struggled a bit! Congratulations to our chairman for carrying home (I doubt if he is home yet) the Lady bird book. He travelled 340 miles just to go for a coffee on Saturday! Well done to Mark and Toby for winning the event, it was great to see Toby back sailing and mad keen.

Hi Tim I am planning on coming down to Ripon and Yeadon and could do with a crew. Plan to camp at Ripon Saturday night. I am also looking for a crew for Yeadon on Sunday if anybody is interested.

We will miss you Patrick and Antony (and everybody else who is not coming). Look forward to meeting you Paul.

Who's coming out to play at this unique event with sea sailing on the Saturday and river sailing on Sunday. Plus the fact it is well known that the big boys (Camms and stewarts and a Like) are to scared to venture this far north so it is a good opportunity to improve your GUL standing.
Also it is probably the only event that you could possibly get arrested for harassing sheep, just ask local boy Ian Purkis who got so lost on the Palnackie race he ended up in a field of sheep! Ian is looking after the infamous ladybird book of sailing at the moment!
Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Well done Gerald. An average speed of 38.46 mph. You obviously didn't have any of the problems that bug me when I move boats about the place! Nearly lost my mini sprint yesterday and consequently have to make a new light board today!

Billy no mates here still looking for a crew.

General National 12 chat / Re: Bailers
18 Jul 2017, 11:11
Bailers often leak because the sides have got bent in at the sides. A little gentle hammering improve the situation but you will probably have to replace the seals as well to stop leak totally. you have to take them out of the boat to straighten.

I am also looking for a crew for Burton and unlike Dare I am not very fussy so over or under 65K no worries, never sailed a 12 before no problem. Some previous sailing experience is probably a good idea (just to keep me right). If you are interested probably best to get back to me through this media. I think you can get my email address by logging on to the site.
