Looks like I am crewless again, so if there is anybosdy interested in pootling about in the front of a vintage boat please let me know.

Is there a measure coming to either Burwain or Hykeham, who could spare some time. It would appear that 3199 has not been remeasured since fitting a carbon rig, there are no markings on mast or boom and sails have not been measured.

I know it is a long way off yet but I am hoping to make it to Burghfield this year and I will be looking for a crew. I will be sailing a vintage boat so if any one want a nice relaxing day meandering round at the back looking for the odd DCB to ambush let me know.

General National 12 chat / Solway
16 Aug 2014, 01:53
I notice that it is a fairly early start for Solway this year which leaves quite a long afternoon to fill in before the pubs open. The local golf course which is really not much more than a pitch and put hires out golf clubs pretty cheaply. Last time i did it I think it cost me less then £10 for clubs and a round and they supply plenty of golf balls as well. Is any body interested in a game. We could maybe have and England V Scotland match or something like that! If any one is wondering about my golfing ability I expect my handicap would be something similar to my PY8)

Is there anybody interested in crewing for me at the vintage championships. Plenty of transum gazing promised.

Noticed this on ebay, gives me a little bit of cause for concern especially as the present owner is listed in the hand book as living in Beccles. I tried phoning the number in the handbook but it appeared to be wrong.

It maybe all above board but I would check it out carefully before biding.

Just a quick reminder of the next Scottish event at Forfar Sailing club on Sunday 28th April. This is the first time that National 12s have had a meeting at Forfar so it would be great to see as many boats as possible.
I don't have a NOR at this time but the first race will be not before 11 am. it is planned to have three races which will be run along side club racing.
If anybody is venturing up from the deep south please get in touch with me or Ed if you want any help with accomodation.....If you stay with us Sophie you should not need quite so many clothes:)

We are hoping to run another Scottish open meeting at Forfar Sailing club on the 1st of july. This will only go a head if we get enough interest so please contact me either through this thread or angus3 at tesco.net or my phone number is in the book. unde Angus Beyts
The first race will not be before 12 o clock.
There is no camping at the club but there is a campsite within about 15 minutes walk.
Anybody wanting any more information ablout the venue please contact me. I may be able to help with accomodation if required.
It is the intention to use the age related handicaps.
Forfar is a very friendly club and a great place to sail so if you have any interest in coming please give me a call or it may not happen.

I know you are all thinking about Burton at the moment but just a wee reminder that the second Scottish Open takes place on the 17th 18th September, this is a unique event with a river race one day, the Palnackie race and two sea races the other day. All three races are to count.

General National 12 chat / Scottish Rep

Sadly I don't think I can continue doing this. I do not think I will be able to attend many open meetings in the future so I hope somebody is prepared to take over. The job does not require a great deal of work and I am well on the way to organising the events for next year.

General National 12 chat / Annandale
29 May 2011, 04:38
Just a wee reminder the next Gill event is at Annandale 11th 12th of June. It is also the Scottish Championships so plenty to play for. Not least the infamous Ladybird Book, though who ever wins it will have to prise it out of John Hugos grip, despite winning last year I have yet to see it, obviously John has found it so useful he doesn't want to let go of it.
All of you who have been to Annandale before won't need to be reminded of their wonderful hospitality but for any who havn't  Annandale is a very friend club who always go out of their way to make visiters welcome and put on a wonderful spread on Saturday night. For those of you from south of the border it might be your last chance to come to the Scottish championships with out needing your passport. ;D

General National 12 chat / Crew wanted
07 Oct 2010, 08:47
Due to school and football commitments I am looking for a crew for Tynemouth on 17th October and for the last Gill event at Northampton 6th 7th November. Tynemouth is a little bit doubtful as Agent Orange is in bits at the moment so a bit depends on how I get on putting her back together this weekend.

Just a little reminder that the 3rd in the Scottish travellers series takes place on the 14th 15th August at Helensburgh. All is still to play for with two events still to go and two to count. More information can be found here.  http://www.helensburghsailingclub.co.uk/index.php?slab=august-regatta

General National 12 chat / Tummel week
25 Jun 2010, 10:32
Don't forget Tummel week, not to be missed especially if you have a topper or Oppy sailor in your family. There were three 12s there last year and it looks like there could be more this year. For more info http://www.lochtummelsc.org/ltsc/
If you want to camp you need to book your spot.

My crew has left me in the lurch big style, I only found out he was in Austria when I couldn't find him yesterday. Is there anybody out there who would be interested in crewing in Mr. Jones. even just Saturday would do as I have a possibility for Sunday Monday.
There is a BBQ ticket for anybody willing to take up the Challenge!

I'm coming all the way down from sunny Scotland to sail Mr Jones at Ripon and Hopefully Yorkshire Dales, but I desperately need a crew for Yorkshire dales. (I hope the ever efficient Jenny has found me one for Ripon). His will be my only chance to practice in mr jones before Burton week. It is really important i get on the water if i am to have any chance of keeping up with Chadders, Gatti man and captain Carbon at Weymouth.
If I don't find a crew I may just have to resort to slamming a car door on my thumb or other desperate measures.:o
