Boats / Re: N2881 Beggars Maid

Has been in the Copsey's garage for a number of years and in need of some TLC; but a handshake agreement at a party at Christmas (Beer was involved) she is now 'on loan' to me for the Summer to see if I can get my daughter to catch the sailing bug.

General National 12 chat / Re: Floors

As we are a development class go for it.

But have you considered a low floor forward of the thwart. solves the water issue and does not knacker your knees.

I always liked the way 3413 had a bow tank all the way back passed the mast,

General National 12 chat / Re: Trapeze?

scotty had a trapeze on his china doll at Landudno early 80's for a laugh and it worked fine.

I rememeber an old friend fitting a trapeze to his old clinket boat once, "just for fun". cerainly made it go up wind quicker when they could get out on the wire. didn't break the mast either.

having spent the first 2 years of my 12 sailing in a warlock I would have to say I agree it certainly looks like one. Then again that was many years ago and memories fade

To clarify the Saturday is not part of the OPEN meeting, but if you want to sail both days we will award an extra prise for the boat with the best 3 results. make sense now?
Any more takers?

Sunday 3rd April will be the official open meeting.
2 races back to back, 2 to count.
12.05 start down river, committee boat start, so allow 20-30 minutes to get there.

As we are again sharing with the Phantoms 2 day meeting the invite is open to anyone who wishes sail on the saturday as well.
This will be 11.35 start from the club line, 2 races and we will award a prize to the boat with the best 3 results over the 2 days.

Camping is available at the club Friday (when the bar will be open) and Saturday and bar/food will be provided Saturday night as well as evening entertainment.
Please post or email me if you are coming, if you are camping and if you want food at the club Saturday night, etc, thanks

I would bring my own crew

Whilst the boat is still for sale, due a slight mishap on sunday concerning a muddy bottom and a rapidly falling tide it will now be sporting a brand new mast when I can get one delivered!

Hi Tim, I would be up for a sail of a ribby at the 75th. Let me know.

Why thank you Jane....
Much harder to take the keels of a Faom sandwich boat. Ask Gerry he took them off his design 8!

Front view.
The black bit is a piece of keel band faired into the hull to ptotect the bow, not a dent! River sailors....
